I got the turnip and onions today from Aldi and the parsnips and cucumber and the living salad from Lidl, I got some runner beans from Sainsbury's for 10p (lol).
Recommended from Aldi is the Austrian blue cheese for 99p - garlic mushrooms and the blue cheese melted under the grill on a baguette (lovely).

yes indeed, just looked at this week's offering - nothing special there at all, very very poor IMO.
At the moment 500g red grapes 79p,6 pk pears 65p,5kg spuds 79p for example.
Our definitions of very poor obviously vary somewhat.0 -
5kg potatoes for 79p is very cheap.
Would be nice if they were all large but no doubt they'll all be marbles in my local. Takes about 3 hours to peel them when they're all tiny0 -
I hope they keep up the "Super 6", I really look forward to it - looks like it's being copied now, the fruit and veg - great to see.
Well done on Aldi (and Lidl) for leading the way on cheap fruit and veg offers.

Oh dear - am I just unlucky?
I shop at Aldi in Hull and Sc*nthorpe and have had very mixed luck with the Super 6. I have had a few good buys but needed to select carefully. Often the fruit is either so ripe, its oozing or rock hard and never ripens properly - the veg is either withered/deteriorated or tiny.0 -
I just bought the 5kg potatoes for 79p and did a lovely mash (not with all the 5 kg of course ;-) ). I don't remember who was worried about them being difficult to peel: I can tell you that they are fine.0

Same here the potatoes I got were really big, I had one for lunch in it jacket. Mmmm lovely.
