Afternoon all! What a gorgeous autumn day it is.
I indulged in far too much cider last night to face the car boot sale so it's been a practical paint buying and reclamation yard mission today. Trying to decide on whether to bus it into Birmingham later for a punk disco, go for a few pints of real ale and curry in town or stay in with a roaring log fire and a film, decisions, decisions...............
Today's outfit is:
Skinny jeans cropped off below the knee (5p jumble sale)
Grey assymmetric teeshirt dress (India)
Vintage denim waistcoat (ancient)
TopShop grey suede high leg fringed gladiators (£3.20 eBay)
Vintage silk Jacqmar scarf in pale blue with seagull print (£1 charity shop)
Usual silver bangles and tribal rings
Turquoise beaded hoop earrings
OPI "Siberian Nights" nail polish on toes - purple-y black gothic shade (£2 car boot)
Lostinrates: your outfit sounds very glam and happy new hair colour!
Enjoy your weekend, gang!0 -
I am amazed at the bargains you all get in charity shops. I'm not sure how posh or stylish Chelmsford is but I might take a look next time I am in town and have a sleeping son! Might also be worth looking in Bristol next time I visit my parents.
Today I have on:
dark jeggings - As yesterday (really must get another pair!)
red tunic/dress with slouchy pockets - Tesco £5
Long crinkly blue and white check scarf - Primark £1
blue and white lace up pumps - Saminsurys £4
No jewellery at all as my son had swimming lessons this morning and haven't got round to putting it back on as just having a cleaning/sorting day at home today.
Have spent some time looking at ebay for clothes and am watching a few bits on there, I'm not quite there on my capsule wardrobe but getting there.0 -

Hi Vicki! Sometimes the charity shops in not-so-posh towns have better stuff as there's fewer stylish people to snaffle the better quality items. This website's good if you're planning a visit to a different town.

It really is gorgeous outside, I resented being stuck in work
On a plus side, it was quiet and I finally decided what to wear tonight!
Magenta dress with white bowler hat (tiny) print and black tie back- New Look limited edition, but passed on by a friend who works there and decided she didn't like the dress!
Black 120 denier tights- M&S?!
Black shoes with cross strap detail, peep toe and 5 inch heel- £1 bargain from a shop that was closing down...my best buy ever as they are so comfy!
Black tuxedo jacket- New Look tall range, another hand me down.
Makeup wise I've gone for the fail safe smokey eye with glittery black liner, loads of mascara and nude lips.
Hair is messy bun.0 -
The problem I have in charity shops is price too. when I was a kid we could buy cheaper and better in charity shops: local to me now I think new look/primark etc (an tkmaxx) are cheaper than the charity shops. Last thing I dithere over was a gorgeous coat in a charity shop, for £15/25 it would have been great, but they wanted £75 for it. New very simialar look woul have ranged from £120-£250, this was nice iddle range, but well worn.0

I need goanmad to convince me to get up early tomorrow and head down to the big car boot sale to scout for bargains!
7.30am is a very ridiculous time to be awake on a Sunday, especially as we're planning to go out with friends tonight. I WILL go home at 11, I WILL go home at 11... :rotfl:
It's the last carboot of the year though, so I really should. Does anyone know why carboots still start so early? Surely they'd attract more customers if they started at a reasonable hour, say 11.30am?!0 -
