  • On the fashion mags front - I used to have a terrible, terrible habit. I'm a very fast reader and I devour books and magazines quickly. I buy books from charity shops and donate them back when I'm done, so that's not too bad, but I used to buy about 10 magazines a month. YIKES! It's shameful when I think about it now. I do still love magazines but really restrict myself. For example, this week I've bought Look (weekly, although I don't buy it all the time, maybe 3 times a month) and Red (monthly) but I have two books to read so I'm set for the next month. Hopefully!

Anyway. OH and I are both off work this week, we're having a 'staycation'. Today we're heading to Manchester to the Urbis for some culture and the Print Works for some lunch. :) Here's what I'm wearing:

Blue, green and yellow floral playsuit (£14, Matalan)
    Mustard yellow cardi
    Mustard yellow suede waist belt
    Black leggings
    Grey plimsolls
    Gold nameplate necklace

The French manicure I had done for the wedding chipped last night and I can't bear chipped nails, so I replaced it with mint green. Not quite as classy, but hey! Enjoy your Tuesday!

    Morning all!

Mags! Hmm! Soo expensive now! Luckily my hairdresser keeps his up-to-date so I never miss an edition of Conde Nast Traveller (well I can dream!) and catch up on the fashion glossies every month too while I get my roots done. He's also pretty generous with the coffee , so **Bliss**.

Today is unexpectedly another 'last day off' before going back to work tomorrow now. :j

Off for a browse round the local shops this morn. Going to walk instead of taking the car for a bit of exercise! Lovely, sunny autumn morning! Wearing new Next stretchy tunic dress in a sort of pale caramel and pink with perfectly matching caramel linen trousers £3 bargain from the charity shop and pale gold toe-posts. (You will see me hanging on to bare feet until at least the first frost!!) DD's River Island cream and dull gold set of bangles and big cream patent River Island bag (2 years old now!)
    Have a great day all
  • Feeling so queasy this morning. And rather annoyed after a whole morning on the phone to insurance company that I can only get a £58 refund from an £800 policy, even though I'm only 9 months in. Dodgy logic IMO.

Anyways, wearing strapless red, black white rose print prom dress from Be Beau (Matalan) £25..
Black leggings (as usual, £3ish Matalan or Primark)
    Usual cardi (Topshop, £25)
Flat leopard print pointy pumps, £4 Primark
Red/black beaded necklace, £12 New Look
    Black beaded choker (£2ish Primark)
Red giant rose ring, £8ish Topshop or Accessorize (I have this in soo many colours!)
Bright red lipstick (more layers than yday, as I was only breaking myself in lol, had a few comments from ppl at work already saying how different I look with lippy!! )

Loving the outfit, you always seem to put them together well!! :)
And I'm making an inspired effort to paint my nails a lovely colour tonight, always have painted toenails, but rarely do my fingertips, not sure why. I think because I never sit still long enough for them to dry w/o smudging..

Enjoy Urbis, a good day out IMO :)

    Afternoon all!

No sunshine here but still really warm, great for drying the washing! Been for my Aquasize class this morning then it's a couple of hours of frenzied eBay activity before my artist friend comes round for me to sit for her.

    It's:
Black denim River Island skinny flares (50p car boot)
Black chiffon puff sleeve blouse with tie neck and grape print (£3 in TopShop sale 3yrs ago)
Silver tribal rings and bangles (India)
Grey shoe boots with wood stack heel (£1 car boot)
Grey leather skinny belt (5p jumble sale)
Big silver hoop earrings with turquoise bead detail (gift from a friend)
1950's black cotton framed bag with yellow rose print (25p car boot)

Fashion mags - I detest 'em! Why should some frumpy, bobbed hair fascist (Paula Reid, Anna Wintour et al) dictate what I should be wearing? I don't wish to look like anyone else or look at pictures of airbrushed 17 year old olds. The Guardian is all I need to keep abreast of any trends and I much prefer Living Etc., Elle Decoration or Wanderlust for inspiration.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Pink jumper with ruffly sleeves (bought in spring in a sale at Sainsburies), jeans, gold nike sneakers. :)

My jeans are a bit loose! I'm so happy. My next sie down jeans are still too small though, and these are slipping badly. I don't have a sutiable belt. Answer is to try and slim into the next sie down as quickly as possible! Jeans are such nightmares to get to fit, and I don't really like them so very much, but when they fit or are too big its the best start to a day!
  • Hi everyone, I don't know if anyone remembers me cos I only posted once and then my grampy died so I haven't really been back on. Anyway, feeling brighter now and am wearing:
Blue and white striped longline vest (Topshop via ebay £6ish) tucked into
Navy blue wool skirt (Topshop via ebay again £5)
Little gold necklace boyfriend gave me for my 22nd which I always wear (haven't actually taken it off since I got it I don't think)
And to cheer me up, bright red lips and nails.
No shoes as I'm inside, having a movie afternoon with boyf and friends today

Hope everyone's having a good day xx

  • welcome back erichamster, sorry to hear your news but glad to hear you are feeling a bit better again now :) hope the movie afternoon goes well

on the mag subject, i've never really got into them, i guess the only one i read with any frequency is sunday times style mag, as it comes with the paper..but i tend to just go online, and am signed up to the newsletters of any brands / stores i'm interested in, so just fidn out about their new stuff there.
whenever i do splurge on one at the supermarket, i would go for look magazine, but whenever i do, i find i already own 90% of the new stuff listed (serial shopper!)
