Caroline, ebaying at 1.19am?! Haha! Yikes!

Freda, I think the outfit you have in mind sounds great, though obviously you might want to take into account the cheaper options suggested. I noticed you saying you always felt like you were 'wearing the wrong thing' - please don't think like that - dress for yourself - your shape and what you like - rather than to follow fashion and wear what other people are wearing - you can't go wrong then :)

GG are these the granny style frames you were on about? I really like them! Might give them a go, I have a funny face though and wonky ears so specs can be a bit dodgy, I normally go through every pair in the opticians before I get any!

EDIT - ok the link doesn't work - I mean the Sinola style...

    Wearing today:

    - Boring flat black work boots (Faith)
    - Boring black work trousers (George)
    - Black vest (H&M)
    - Cream sheer deer print top with ruffle (total bargain HoF sale £6.40!)
    - Black cardi (H&M)

Am thinking of debuting my interview jacket-turned-trendy blazer for a night out tomorrow .... with skinny black trousers, grey patent mary jane heels, and grey sort of sheer loose vest - sort of a 20s shape. Going to pop to Primark at dinnertime I think to see if I can get hold of some cheap long pearls - how does that sound?

    Sounds fab to me Tete

PF- love the sound of the colours in your outfit!
  • Ooh I love all the Paris themed stuff that's about at the minute! Might see if they have anything in Primarni later seeing as I'm not supposed to be spending.

PF am I right in thinking you make a lot of your own clothes, or is that someone else? I was at my sewing class last night and my skirt is finally taking shape and I actually think I might even like to wear it once it's done, and it's got me all inspired looking at vintage fabric on ebay! What sort of things do you make? Do you wear it all?

Next had a gorgeous pink and white striped jumper with sequinned Eiffel Tower on it that I want,
problem being that is was far too short on me and they don't do it in the tall range

Daisy have you seen the topshop striped jumper with the eiffel tower print on the front? i so want, think they may have had that in the tall section, was definitely in normal and petite..

    http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=19551&storeId=12556&productId=1443665&langId=-1&categoryId=&parent_category_rn= - love!

Tete - yes, I mainly make dresses really from patterns, and have made a couple of skirts, although not from proper patterns..I've found that my local material shops have a fair amount of relatively cheap cottons, have done a few floral ones, and am currently in the process of making a blue one with polka dots, inkeeping with the nautical theme, from a 50s pattern i got from ebay..will blog post about it when it's done..

love the skirt im wearing today, but have remembered why it's only been worn twice (ever)..because it's a total nightmare to get in and out of the car etc with it!

I wish I was more crafty. I'm scared of sewing machines though :o

    Today's outfit is:

    Black leggings - M&S
    Green tights - M&S
Black & green flower print hanky hem top - Dotty P
    Short black cardi - Hawkshead
    Black and silver chandelier earrings

I have my black and cream Chanel style pumps on as well but with green tights I feel a bit like a duck :rotfl: Might shove on the black fake Uggs that live under my desk instead.

PF- I never wear anything practical for travelling by car or bus! I remember a few awkward trips to college on the bus!

Right, outfit for me today, nothing exciting as both parents are at work and I'm craving a quiet day to myself. As much as I appreciate people keeping me busy, I've ended up exhausted from putting on a brave face.

    Long sleeve cream thermal: Peacocks
Navy and white striped long jumper: New Look
    Grey skinny jeans (new): Primark
Black buckle detail flat ankle boots: Dorothy Perkins.

The sun is shining, so I think I will take a walk to the local shops later as we need cat food and it'll save my parents having to go out this evening.

I've signed up for my media law course and I'm just waiting for the discs and text books to come in the post. I can't wait to get started now.

DB- Great news about your course, how exciting!

GG - More exciting news about the house, you'll probably be surprised at how much money you can save, we never thought we could get by on just one wage as we never seemed to have any surplus when I was working too and didn't seem to have expensive habits (apart from smoking which we both stopped when I got pregnant)

Today is emergency cleaning as I am hosting the Mum/toddler coffee morning on Monday and think I should do a proper clean so they don't think (find out) I'm a skank! For this joyful event I am wearing navy leggings & oversized grey T-shirt.

Hope you all have a good day x
  • Hey ladies can I join in? Ive been lurking for a few months on here and the TTC board...Ive delurked there so thought Id be super brave (not like me) and delurk on here!

I love reading about your outfits and your blogs I feel I know you all already....I would love to have the easy style that you all have (you make it look too easy lol).

Anyway I love clothes but have gotten into a rut over the past few years of jeans flat boots etc etc Something I think Caroline said the other day about al the mums at her sons group looking like thy walked out of the Next catalogue struck a chord with me as most of the mums round here are like that and I sometimes feel a scruff in comparison! In the past I have tried to dress the same as them to fit in but now I dont know if its my age (33) or what I just thought stuff it Im going to dress how I please and I dont care who doesnt like it! lol

God Im such a rambler! Sorry...todays outfit is

Cotton full skirt with abstract print in brown and teal (bargain 99p off ebay BNWT).

Black thick tights- Woolford? (gift off mum).
black low v neck cotton top with bell sleeves- Tescos
Turquoise vest under top- dunno had ages
Black flat leather ballerina shoes with 2 buckles across the toe (sound awful but really nice lol)
Black wool coat to go out in and scarf hat etc (have a thing for hats lol)
Jewellery is a big disc necklace on leather thong and wooden disc earrings.

May have to put a long cardi over though did the school run this morning and I think my skirtis a wee bit too light for winter but its a great print and it cheers me up so I wanted to wear it.

Phew there you go thats me! Hi! lol
