:wave:hello over here!
I don't normally venture over to the fashion threads, but wondered if you could help me - I have bought a couple of long tops recently that do not have a straight bottom hem, they hang lower at the sides than in the middle, if that makes any sense... I really like the shape of them, but I have no idea what they would be described as!
Can anyone tell me if there is a name for this?0 -
Hello FC! I'd just call them tunics I think but maybe there's a proper word.
Grrrrr I just wrote a HUGE long post but somewhere in the middle of writing it I got logged out so I'll do a proper post later when I am on the nice laptop not the evil one!
So sorry to hear that Daisy.0 -
Daisy, so sorry about your very sad news. Try to keep yourself gently occupied today. (Hugs)foreign_correspondent wrote: »:wave:hello over here!

Also, as I'm feeling moderately brave this evening, here is a photo of today's outfit. Clearly I'm not brave enough to post an unblurry pic but it's a start :rotfl:
Looks fab! - you make yourself sound much bigger than you look!piratefairy wrote: »Nope it's a cream one, 3/4 sleeves and kinda cropped. Thers a pic on my blog..

That's really sad. It's good to know that she had a supportive network though.0 -

I like that! I'm thinking...I could pop down to NL when hubby gets home :wall:This thread is costing me a fortune!0 -
Lir - I can do the black with one colour, it's wearing colours together I struggle with, I just don't seem to have the vision or imagination. I have a few skirts with more than one colour (lilac and silver velvet panel skirt for example) and I still just wear them with black! It's my style I suppose but I see other people doing colour and I want a piece of it. Last week my friend wore a pair of purple tights with purple shoes which didn't quite match, it looked great but I would be physically incapable of that. I quite like the idea of using grey as my base colour rather than black as I think it goes with any colour but it can look dull if you're not careful.
I'm the same Mariel, I justify it by saying that it means everything matches!
I think it's why I go for bright shoes so I can brightened up an outfit but feel comfortable in black. Don't wear things you aren't comfortable in but just push your boundaries a bit.0 -

I see New Look call it a hanky hem, but I always thought they were more uneven/ more jagged - it looks like it does come under the sorts of hems called hanky hems though - thanks, that is really useful - makes it easier when looking for similar tops, and yes, I agree, they are quite flattering!
ETA - daisy, sorry to hear of your sad news.0 -

Planning on wearing with my beloved Evans leggings (which are by far the best ever!) and bought some red/blue/white beads but need shoe help! Got some black ankle boots but sick of wearing them, any suggestions?
Is this thread for advice only or general day to day chat?:xmastree: :rudolf: :xmastree:0 -
Hello ladyfalco, welcome to the thread, a mix of both advice and general chat seems to be the norm here so feel free to join in
like all the tops and think you'd be fine with either some plimsoll type pumps, or maybe some flat boots, maybe higher than ankle height?
