Thanks for all the advice re wearing colours. I think I'm going to do one day a week with no black except maybe tights and shoes although I do have coloured boots and shoes so I might be able to work those in. I'm not going to cop out and wear jeans either! I've gone for quite a bit of colour today, I think it delves into 'bag lady' territory but I don't really care cos I like it!

hooded cardi in shades of green by Katwise on Etsy
black diamond opaques and legwarmers from Primark
    black leather biker boots
    psychedelic flower choker-length pendant

Hope you all have a good Saturday night! x

Oh daisy that's such sad news :( *hugs*

lir - would low-ish heeled boots be an option? I always think they work much better than low-mid heeled shoes. Or are any type of heels a no-no?

goan - Wow, I love that 30's chair. You must have some sort of jumble sale magic going on. The ones I go to are always full of nasty modern tat!

Mariel - The mixture of prints in that top is fab :) It sounds like a lovely outfit, not a bit bag-ladyish!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I was so nervous about posting that pic (honestly, in non-blurry photos I am the most unphotogenic person ever) - I never ever let my photo be taken. You've all cheered me up no end :D

Well I kept it fairly simple today as I was off to try on bridesmaid dresses and didn't want to be stripping off lots of layers of clothing. Just went for indigo jeans, pale grey jumper with shoulder details, black & silver quartz cocktail ring, black and silver chandelier earrings and black & cream Chanel style pumps. I feel so good today though, very unlike me!

Silly dress shop only had samples up to a size 14 so I had to squeeze myself into them - clearly they didn't zip up properly or fit right but at least I got them on so I'm surprisingly chuffed :D We're all in love with the same dress (it's the yellow one at the bottom of the bridesmaids page on this site) so am currently hunting for something similar but cheaper! Oh and it'll be in black. Gosh, I've got really excited about it now!

Sorry to hear of your sad news Daisy *hugs*

Weekend so far has been just spent relaxing. Just been to the cinema to see Daybreakers which was pretty good. Outfit today has just been nice comfy thick black roll neck jumper, black trousers with black stiletto ankle boots.

Have resisted the dress for the time being. Am going to try and hold out until I can go to the shop as if I save 10% I can actually buy two dresses as I have a £60 voucher to spend at Vivien of Holloway that OH got me for Christmas :D Have already said I am getting a new petticoat so it is going to be a fruitful trip when I got in two weeks I think!

The Grecian style one???????? Divine and so flattering for all heights, shapes and sizes!! Clever choice imo. I'm going to hunt out the post from a few weeks ago where I predicted you'd be in the size 14 by the wedding. Bet you are!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Love the grecian dress. And well done you for getting it on. I thinkyou'd make it into the size intime, at the rate at which you are going. :)
Alexnikov, yes, low heels would be an option: I just rarly fall in love with them. I tend to ake trainers and change, but would like to avoid that for the big days coming up. I don't know why I get blisters on the soles of my feet so often though, but it hurts!

I also have to get some new tights this week or next: all mine have animal hair embedded in them. :(

Lost- all my tights have cat hair embedded :o

Thank you again for the kind, supportive words yesterday, really and truly appreciated.
Still feeling quite numb, like it hasn't really sunk in...but I also know I need to take this as a wake up call and re-evaluate where I'm heading.

Grandad's birthday today, so off to grandparents house for lunch and spoiling the birthday boy
(I've adopted him a donkey from a sanctuary he loves to visit)

    Wearing:

    Black camisole: Probably peacocks
Long sleeve over-sized black bat wing top: New Look (passed on via a friend)
    Jeggings: New Look
Thin knit grey cardi: New Look
    Over knee black boots: Asos

Going to pop out for the Sunday papers and some milk shortly.

black wide neck top customised to within an inch of its life by me
    fancy knit purple tights
black real suede fringed ankle boots (New Look sale)
silver/multicoloured glitter eyeliner (Collection 2000) cos it makes me happy =)

Hope everyone has a lovely day doing exactly what you want to do! x

Hello..I'm having a productive day with the sewing machine today as I wanted to change my sunday routine..no real plans so think I'll try and go for a walk/bike ride later this afternoon to the park or something..
    Today I'm wearing:
long oversized tshirt dress with haunted house print, topshop £18
mustard chunky knit cardi, peacocks £12 I think
mustard long bead necklace, 50p charity shop
    black tights

the top is probably a little too short as a dress but as there's nobody to offend here I don't really care lol

Yup, the Grecian style one :) They only had it in white to try on and it looks quite bridal, so we were all having wedding related fantasies when we looked in the mirror :rotfl:

I'm having a lazy Sunday afternoon, following a morning of frantic cleaning as the landlord's just been round to renew our lease. All done now, phew!

    Jeans
Mid grey Woodland Trust organic cotton strappy vest with leaf and tree print
    Pale grey boyfriend cardi
Winter patterned grey knitted house boots

I have been looking at exactly the same dress! I am bridesmaid in May for my friend and we are able to choose our own dresses the only stipulation is that they have to be black. I was browsing through the Kelsey Rose website and thought that one looked really nice.

I'm going trying on dresses next Saturday. Made sure that the shops we are going to stock dresses in more generous sizes as I'm anything between a 16 and an 18 depending on te shop and style. Am hoping they will have that particular dress in stock for me to try :)
