    Hi everyone,
Hope you are warm and well.
Piratefairy - your coat sounds like mine I got last week. Is it purple/lilac bobbly loose knit wool? I love mine and it's so warm, and what a bargain!!
    Today I am wearing
    long grey buckle boots
    navy leggings
    navy long sleeve top
    pretty floral tunic/dress on top.
Jewellery is pink beaded bracelet with peacock charm and white floral bead and clear bead bracelet - gifts from a lovely friend.
Been out and about today but the snow is melting fast here so not too slippy.

I love making soup but I end up wanting huge amounts of very buttery toast to go with it and feel very deprived if I don't have any!

Daisybella, do you buy your butternut squash whole or ready chopped - I love it too but have a real struggle peeling and chopping it - any tips?

Vicki- I tend to buy it whole as its cheaper, though some times I buy it pre-prepared in Tesco, depending on how lazy I feel.
I find that microwaving it until it just starts to soften helps with peeling it (make sure you poke some holes in first and watch it carefully, I've had one explode before now!

    Thanks piratefairy!
Parts of the challenge should be ok, I can make most jewellery I like, and last year I got away with only buying a couple of pairs of shoes, I have more than enough of everything to be going on with really! Its just I'm hoping to a) get a new job, and b) lose weight... both of these things may mean a spend!

I'm also thinking about doing a bit of DIYing on some of my clothes! I think you guys might give me the inspiration I need to try new things!

    Hi,

Another newbie here! Have been lurking for a while but thought it was about time I spoke up!

New year resolution is to stop and think before I buy something new and make sure I don't already have something similar (I'm a terrible repeat purchaser!) and that it will work with things I already have. Oh, and also to have a bit more fun with my wardrobe - take more risks and mix it up a bit more.

    Anyway, today's outfit was:
Lace vest from M&S (surprisingly warm, must work on the same principle as men's string vests!)
    Grey check topshop tunic
    Black skinny Cheap Monday jeans
    River Island black waterfall cardi
    Black ankle biker boots

    xx

    Evening ladies

Still just as cold here in wales.

    Outfit today
    Black trousers - Wallis
    Petrol blouse - Miss Selfridge
    Black V Neck Jumper - F&F
Black chunky heeled ankle boots - Brantano
    Black wooly winter coat

I always wear trousers and jeans and never wear a dress unless it a very special occasion. I'd like to wear skirts and dresses more casually but am not sure what looks ok on me.

I'm tall and a size 16 and my stomach is my "problem" area. Any suggestions?

Hello Sibles and Sharona (my, my, my, wooo! Love that song!!). Sibles - do you sell your jewellery anywhere? I ask because I do the same, and Daisybella is also a a fan of handcrafted jewels. I love seeing what other people do! :)

Lots warmer here too, and although it snowed a bit this morning and the roads were slushy and rubbish, it seems to have cleared. Except for in our car park, where I had to dig a clear path for OH's great big Golf as he was stuck (again) in the middle! My little Fiesta is fearless in the snow!

Those who read my blog will already know, but this week I've set myself a style challenge. I've decided to be more adventurous with my fashion choices, and that means no more jeans. So I've banned them from my wardrobe for 5 days and will be utilising dresses, skirts and shorts from this day forward! Today's outfit was:

    Black tailored shorts
    Black polo neck
Cream and black polka dot smock top
    Black tights
Black knee high socks with bows
    Black leather boots

    Wish me luck! :)

ice, have you tried an a-line skirt..make it at least knee length, and then you can team it with boots and opaquie tights / leggings without it erring towards trashy..then try layering it with either a blouse (if it's a work look maybe) or a long sleeved tshirt, and add a longline cardigan, so that your "problem" area is covered..i absolutely swear by long cardi's at the moment, as i find that as long as they finish further down than my waist area (which i hate), they give you a longer slimmer sillouette. and dont forget a nice chunky necklace to draw the focus up to your face/neck..

GG - no more jeans (!)..I set myself that challenge about 4 1/2 yrs ago!! Good luck :)
