Not to sure why people stockpile the strangest of things! I know if I was snowed in I wouldn't want to be living of milk, bread and carrots!!

    Receipe I have used is:

2 small or 1 large butternut squash
    2 carrots
    1 onion
    1 clove of garlic
    2 potatoes
    1 litre chicken stock

I have added a little bit of chilli powder for some spice

All boiled up for around 45mins then blitzed in the food processor.

Why on earth people are actually stockpiling in the first place, I don't know! Our Sainsbury's was mental today - we're predicted LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS tomorrow and then it's clear for the rest of the week. All the weather forecasters are saying yes, there is more snow and yes, it will be cold, but nowhere near as bad as it has been this week. So if they managed on regular supplies for the worst week, why do they need to go mad no2 that it's over?! I saw one couple with about 100 bottles of water!!!

I'm baffled. I only wanted milk, soup and ice cream!!! :)

People are just weird, that's my conclusion!

Mrs Ryan, you must have had to be rolled to the rugby with that many clothes on! Hope you stayed warm though, nothing worse than standing watching sport and being so so cold that you can't enjoy it.

I went shopping today as I've now hit the 4 stone lost barrier and so got treated to something nice - new bras! I've gone down two band sizes and one cup size so obviously none of the old one were fitting properly at all. So nice to have boobs in the right place now :rotfl: Also bought another pair of black leggings, a gorgeous slouchy teal cableknit sweaterdress type thing and some kingfisher coloured tights. Hurrah, I love new stuff :D

    Today's outfit was:

    2 pairs of socks
    Black tights
    Jeans
    Walking boots
    Royal blue vest top
    Slash neck long grey top
    Pearl studs

Then bundled up with my black duffle jacket, a big scarf and my stripy gloves and earmuffs. It was -3 when we were walking home from the retail park so I'm glad I was so well wrapped up.

    I could scream!

Came home from work at 11.30 and brought home a few extra bits to make a Thai style soup with vermicelli, inspired by judgejaq's recipe link. Chucked tonight's clothes in the machine, started the recipe and got a broth simmering and went up for my shower. just come down to find my washer pumping out the rinse water all over my kitchen floor, presume the outside drain must have frozen......all yesterday's clean launderette-dried towels have been chucked on the floor to soak it up......OMG!

Look at the time! After being at work since 3.30, do I feel like dealing with this? I ******* hate winter. (Sorrry!)

EDIT TO ADD have just switched off the machine and mopped up and left it!

The Thai soup is DIVINE and is so lifting my mood, along with the glass of rose! I used some sliced mange-tout as actually didn't fancy cabbage in it! I used reduced fat coconut milk too as it was all I had. Think the fish sauce defo adds something, but don't add any more salt! You could add some cooked rice if you don't have the rice noodles.
Since it's a fashion thread, I'm wearing an aqua Primark fleecy dressing gown, Per Una pink fluffy slippers, pink scrunchie, the lovely scent of DD's soap and glory toiletries...she's out tonight at her work do......... and a satisfied smile as I anticipate my lovely supper.......thanks jj.

OH has just arrived to rescue me/ make me smile too, so all is not lost!!

Will sort out the washer tomorrow.!

this is what happened to us!
plumber said the people who had our house before had run the pipes outside, not in, and the resulting damage of the frozen pipe had burst the one in the garage.
might be worth checking if thats the problem with yours, it took a couple of hours, but our pipes now run inside.

we're actually considering sending the old owners the invoices for the things we've had to fix here, haha,
we're talking collapsing ceilings, a gas leak, faulty wiring and who knows what else that we've had to repair after Mr "I'll fix it even though I have no idea" had a go :o

Alex- CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss :T

Oh Bronnie! Poor you! This is just kids all over... I remember using my Mum's prized tea towels to clean up dog sick when I lived at home! And I was about 17 at the time. :o

Hope you get it sorted today.

Well girls, I'm braving the weather to go into town and spend my Urban Outfitters gift card today. I've got cabin fever from being inside all day yesterday and if I can get my car out of the car park, I'm away! Currently wearing owl print PJs but just going for a shower now. Hope you all have happy Sundays! :)
