Morning all. I don't plan on getting dressed at all today
Enjoy it!
I'm in pyjamas...well, yoga trousers and a sweat shirt. A neighbour did my horses this morning...I was lingering late because of the ice, and the neighbour was there feeding cattle in the next field in a tractor, so broke the ice on my trough, re filled it (our pipes are frozen), checked hay then called to tell me not to rush...my lovely neighbours!
I've also hear that grit has been left on the junction, so I've volunteerd to go and spread when I go out, so I've decided to pull a tactsuit on OVER my ''pjs''. Its a bit like when they told us when we were little that firmen wore there pjs under their uniforms (is that true?) for speed, only for me its about warmth....:)
Apart from that we have to do a supermarket run (or we feel we have to) so my mother and I are joinging forces and going later tonight. I don't suppose my mum would go out with me in pjs and a tracksuit, so I'll get dressed then....but a bit worried, as we'll have to go in the car, and I fel the roads are only really suiable if you are driving a 4 by 4...by mum can't get in and out of the kandrover though:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Heartily recommend the late night supermarket shop. Sauntered round last night at 10.30, easy-peasy (also got 2 baguettes, 2 apple pies and an apple and blackberry pie, fresh strawberries, 2 bags of bistro salad leaves, an Innocent veggie pot meal, family strawberry trifle for £1.30 ..10p and 20p each! This NEVER happens to me :T ) Thankfully DD and BF scoffed most of the trifle last night and am giving 2 of the pies to friends)
We escape much of the worst of the weather in our lttle peninsula here, but the weather this morning is ominous. The most oppressive, leaden, low grey sky, hail showers and bizarrely, loud rumbling thunder all morning.
The Oasis beret arrived this morning. If you've got a medium to large head or masses of hair.....forget it, it's really quite small. Perfect for DD luckily though!0 -
Bronnie so jealous of your bargains!
We had a heavy snow shower this morning but sun is out now, thankfully!0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Battled into work again this morning - had to get the bus as my dad is off work (not at all jealous!) so he couldn't drive me in as usual. The bus then got stuck in the snow and took ages to get to Blackpool, and then the many roads I had to cross on the walk to the office were like an ice rink. It's still really cold out there which is making me really nervous about the walk back to the bus tonight in case the ice gets worse, especially as it'll be dark.
But I'm here now, and today's outfit is:
- Grey short sleeve jumper with black and white bow on it (Next)
- Black pinstripe straight leg trousers (Dorothy Perkins)
- Black ankle boots with studs (New Look)
- Black military style flared jacket (New Look) to come into work
- Multicoloured stripey scarf, beanie hat and mittens (Accessorize) to come into work
- Brown leather handbag (21st birthday present from parents)
- Usual jewellery (birthday/Christmas/graduation presents from parents and boyfriend)
Hair is straightened then messed up with spray wax, nail polish is Nails Inc South Molton Street (being taken off later though to be replaced with a sparkly red 17 one) and perfume is Marc Jacobs Daisy.
In work until just before five, then (provided I make it to the bus stop!) home to wrap the last present and finish packing to go to Warwickshire tomorrow."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Hi folks, can't believe how cold it is!. I'm trying to track down the guy who sweeps our chimney so we can put light our kitchen fire. Last time I tried to light it, it nearly smoked us out of the house!
Goanmad, your poor dad, he must be absolutely devastated.
LiR, I feel for you with the ringworm, my son had it in his hair when he was small, which is not the easiest of places to treat with cream!
PirateFairy, I'd hang on until the sales if I were you - it's bound to be reduced and it's only a matter of waiting a few days now.
DaisyB, the Cornish fairings sound yummy, going to be baking later on so I think I'm going to give them a go.
Well, I haven't dared poke my nose out the door yet today - I was out at midnight last night gritting my stairs and front path as they were starting to look like a death trap, and I didn't want to wake up to the postie's frozen corpse this morning.
I need to go out though, so I'm toasty warm in proper thermals.
Currently wearing:
long sleeve thermal vest
charcoal grey long tshirt
thermal leggings
black leggings
chunky charm bracelet
sliver vintage bark patterned pendant with purple stone
thermal socks
black CAT biker boots
will probably wear fake grey leopard fur coat
Have a good day people, see you all later.0 -
Hello! Goodness, I'm so cold it's almost unbearable. I really haven't dressed appropriately for today - was under the impression the office would be adequately heated but I was wrong! I think I'm frozen to my chair.
Anyway, my mission for the next three days at work up to Christmas is to bring a bit of sparkle to this dusty office, so here's today's:
Purple wool dress
Thick black tights
Black polo neck
Black and gold velvet pumps
Gold sequined waistcoat!
I have similar plans for tomorrow and Thursday - hooray for spangle! It's cheering me up, anyway. Hope you're all keeping warm!0 -
Piece of advice girls, never do thermals AND fur coat!! Next time, I'll do one or the other - I was absolutely roasting in the shops, who all seemed to have their heating set at tropical.
It's absolutely mad out - you'd think some people were shopping for the year, never mind one day!
Anyway, I'm home now and got a huge pan of chicken soup on the go, just got some dumplings to make to pop in later. Hope everyone's had a good day, see you all later.0 -
I always wear less when I'm going shopping, it's horrible being hot in shops!
Lir I hope your mole gets the all clear. It seems strange that they have to wait but I guess they know what they are doing.
Goan your poor Dad, what an upsetting thing to happen, especially at this time of year.
Glad you've finally got the beret Bronnie!
Another mad day today, they all are atthe moment! Think I might wrap the presents tonight then I'm pretty much done.
Today's clothes -
Monsoon panelled denim knee length skirt (CS)
black/multi liquorice allsort v neck jumper (CS)
diamond patterned opaques
my favourite black/multi stripes socks hidden under
black leather biker boots
black wool cardi/coat (me made)
grey fringed cowl (Primark)
have a restful and relaxing evening everyone!0
