    Hi girls!

Hope you're on the mend LIR!

Vicky re the fat arms.....it was actually just a bad angled shot I'm sure. I thank god for the delete function on cameras, "carefully-posed-spontaneous " gives me my most flattering results!

Haven't been posting since I would just end up sounding moany atm! Short-staffed at work, during our busiest time so really stressful there and my winter clothes are unworthy of mention on this thread, repetitively black, stretchy and woolly! Having a bit of a duvet day today as DD is out all day, although off to work again at 3.30pm!

Although I'm not a wonderfully Christmassy person, I am actually enjoying being creative atm. DD is a total traditionalist and we got the most perfectly shaped tree for the living room yesterday, which she is in charge of.

However, I am quite 'lightened' by my 'alternative' orange, gold and white Christmas theme going on in the porch (which is the sunny side of the house and is painted white, light and bright), with a white tree that has been adorned with gold balls ( from previous years) and HM dried orange slices. Some green and gold sprayed foliage and seed heads a lovely old art deco style orange patterned bowl of my grandma's and a gorgeous kind of metallic bronze ppottery jug of hers too. All for the price of a couple of oranges, and 99p gold spray and snow spray! Have put a chair in there too for a quick read of the newspaper and my Sanctuary scented candle (birthday pressie) and on a good day, it's like sitting in my personal SAD light box!! :rotfl:

    Have a good day y'all!

Oooh Bronnie, your Xmas room sounds really lovely. I'm not a Christmassy person and am using the mess and danger that a 2-year old would create as an excuse not to put any decorations up, but now I am starting to change my mind!

Today's outfit is a wooly jumper dress from Tsega at Topshop (via ebay)- it's dark grey, purple, red and white and has cute mushroom houses and cats on. I love it and am so pleased I got a bargain as it was listed as just "Dress" hooray!

Im wearing black tights with vertical ribbing and my slouchy grey boots which I have totally got my money's worth out of - I wear them ALL the time!

Jewellery is just a pandora style bracelet with red and purple beads on it. The neckline of the dress is a bit fussy and I'm not sure a necklace would look right but I might have a play later!

You all sound so organised for Christmas, I am making some hampers up for family members with Homemade (and grown) green tomato chutney, some local cheese, some biscuits which I plan to make with Dylan and maybe a small bottle of port or wine. I am looking for inspiration as to other things to put in that I can make preferably as we are trying not to spend much money but still want to put the thought into the presents.

I am going to decorate a mug for DH with Dylan's handprint and some "artwork" I know he'll love it!

What are you all giving and wishing for?

Vicki- I spied on your pics, you looked gorgeous and Dylan is such a cutie!
I love the sound of all your homemade gifts! I wish I had the kitchen space and privacy to do that, but I don't, so although I've bought presents for people they are all small, personal and locally bought from small businesses as far as possible!

    Hi all!

I'm wearing the same as yesterday :o so not worth the energy in describing.
Hope you're on the mend, Lostinrates. Aren't cats sweet when you're under the weather?

My fancy dress party was a blast - I've uploaded some pictures to my blog if you want to see. Right now I'm in need of plenty of stodge and a few mugs of tea to sort me out. I'm salavating at the thought of a super-hot veggie pizza with extra jalapenos, jacket wedges and salsa dip which I'll be ordering as soon as the pizza parlour opens.

My pals are concerned with my lack of Xmas decorating plans - hardly seems worth the bother as we're off on the 28th. I may make a wreath for the front door just to stop them mithering!

goanmad - those photos are fantastic :D

Bronnie - that room sounds lovely! I can't wait till our tree is up. I love to go down in the morning, turn the tree lights on and sit and read. It always smells so wonderfully festive.

vicki - you sound much more organised than me! I tend to do a lot of Christmas baking but that's because there are lots of people at work that I like to give stuff to but can't afford to spend a lot on. I don't really tend to make stuff for other people but I always try and put lots of thought into the presents I buy.

Today's outfit was all brand new as I was feeling slimmer and more confident than usual :) Such a lovely feeling fitting into size 18 clothes when everything was size 22/24 5 months ago :o

    Dark blue jeans
    This rather pretty top
    Cream and black heeled brogues
    Cream pashmina
    Cream shell earrings

Hi girls. Have had an absolutely mental weekend - am so glad to be sitting on my sofa relaxing!

LiR, hope you're feeling a little better now. Sickness is truly awful.

    Today I was wearing:

    Skinny jeans
    Floral top
    Grey long sleeved tee
    Yellow cardi

Rather dull, but it is Sunday! Have just popped a giveaway on my blog too, if you'd like to have a go. :)

Alex- GO YOU! what an achievement,
your outfit sounds gorgeous, love the top!

    Well,
I've spent the afternoon putting together cellophane bags of "reindeer poo" (chocolate raisins) and "snow balls" (toffee bonbons) on behalf of the cat :p tied with ribbon and gift tags added.
Going to make some more to take in to the nurses tomorrow as I'm having my last blood tests of the year and they are stars :o I have just enough sweets left to make enough for one each!
