    I've been Money Tipped!
Funny gold should come up here, I was toying with asking you gals to suggest places to look for a bangle. In the heady heights of gold prices my mtoher has decided she wants a gold bangle for christmas. (its also a ''big'' birthday, so would be a joint present, and the only big thing we'd buy this year). She doesn't wear 9ct so would have to be 14/18. (my purse would prefer 14!). And very simple: she's very classic. It has to be a bangle, not a bracelet...any ideas?

Hi all, lovely day here, although a bit on the cold side.

Got my new cooker the other day, nice big range-style one, and hopefully should be getting it next week, so I'm looking foward to some baking days and filling the freezer up for Xmas. Time to dig out Delia!

Popped out in my lunch hour yesterday to buy some chorizo and salamis and came back with the most beautiful pair of vintage emerald green satin shoes from a charity shop for 4.99 - they're very Strictly Come Dancing and the colour is amazing. I was nearly on the bus back before I remembered I hadn't got what I originally went out for!

If anyone in the north-east is interested, there's a couple of vintage fairs on this weekend, Durham on Saturday and Newcastle on Sunday. I'm hoping to get to Sunday's if possible. Details are here, and for other fairs around the country on other dates:

Currently at work, bored rigid, and I've drank so much coffee they'll have to peel me off the ceiling shortly. Today's outfit is:
    mid-blue boyfriend jeans (New Look)
3/4 sleeve ribbed flared jumper (H&M)
green suede pointy toe flats (Benetton via charity shop)
    orange enamel choker (antique fair)

Piratefairy, hope you're ok, make sure you get that checked out asap.

    Have a good weekend everyone.
  • Good evening lovely ladies. Piratefairy, hope your arm's feeling a little better. I agree with Goan - sounds like a trapped nerve. Better to get it checked though! You're so right about vintage sizing... I felt a little disgruntled that none of the boots fitted my hoof-like feet and I couldn't get a gorgeous leather skirt over my bum! Never mind. I did pick up a plaited leather belt which I'm really pleased with. I needed loads more time so might go back on a Saturday.

    Today's was:
Black skirt with white heart print and peplum
Grey long sleeved tee with lighter grey tee layered over the top
    Grey wool tights
    Black suede boots
    Black heart shaped cocktail ring

    Happy Friday all!

Ugh, I'm giving up on the dress hunt. Currently lusting after most of the Uttam and Culture clothes on the Dotty P's website, especially this beauty (http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=20552&storeId=12552&categoryId=162512&parent_category_rn=163501&productId=1502977&langId=-1 ) but none of them will fit so it's sort of pointless looking at them.

I did buy a truly fabulous dress in M&S tonight, a sort of Missoni type print in black and white, but it's too flipping short. Really, I'm only 5'2, I don't know what's going on! I'll have to investigate trouser options. I'm bound to look hideous in leggings but I fear black trousers may be too chunky to go underneath it.

Now, I had you in mind as tall. Wonder what made me think that? Frustrating this business of virtual buddies, sometimes!! Excepting the bloggers, of course. We know you now!!

seriously regretting this going in at 7 business, especially as the heating doesn't kick in here till 7, so I'm currently wearing my dressing gown over my work uniform :o

Possibly, although I worry about waistbands showing up as the dress is quite a fine knit. I'll have to take it with me when I go shopping and have a big session of trying various styles on.

OMG, its colder again isn't it....we left really early this morning and when I got to wear I was going and started peeling off layers (our cr has no heating.) people were giggling:

Vest tights, two pairs of socks, (knee length and ankle socks) tracksuit trousers, long sleaved t shirt, cardi, tracksuit top, woolen scarf, out door coat, gloves, hat, pashmina (yes, over a scarf) and then, in the car, a blanket....what a wuss! I don't normally get so very cold.
