Minerva, outfit sounds great - loving the sound of the wide-legged trouser version.

Glowgirl, hope wee Charlie's hanging on in there.

Piratefairy, I love your Halloween material, it's amazing!

Well, I've been quite a busy little bee today, and caught up on a few bits and pieces that needed doing, hung a couple of fab 70s mirrors, put a new loo roll holder up (what a glamorous life I lead!) and made some chicken soup.

Still suffering a LOT of pain after yesterday's stair tumble and I've got the beginnings of the most massive bruise - at least it's where no-one will see it! :rotfl:

Nothing exciting on the clothes front here, I'm afraid, I'm dressed for comfort today.

    grey flared yoga pants
long sleeved fine cotton white tshirt (pack of 2, £4 New Look, black & White)
    ratty old Uggs

Grammargirl - Bill Bailey rocks! Saw him last year and didn't stop laughing throughout the entire set. Your BF's a lucky guy.

We saw him in Manchester a few months ago and he was brilliant. My bf is a musician so loves BB's musical bits and will adore the orchestra too. I can't wait to present him with the tickets on his birthday! :)

I hope the little kitty feels better soon. It's so sad when animals get ill.

PS. Piratefairy, you should definitely have a staycation! We loved ours, it was lots of fun. Even better near Christmas as you can get your shopping done while it's quiet! xx

The brown ankle boot hunt continues...

I tried loads of shops in town today and without exception the boots were all a) gorgeous but only came in black or b) a really vile shade of tan or terracotta. Surely it can't be this hard to find a nice pair in some decent shade of mid or chocolate brown?

I quite like these but the sole puts me off. Not that I'm fussy or anything!

Primark had some really nice fairly plain £15 ones but only in black. Oh I tell a lie, they had some in brown but only in a size 3  I'm back in town tomorrow morning so am wondering if it's worth trying there again. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to whether they're likely to stock the display up again overnight?

Minerva - that sounds ideal to me, stylish and practical if you're going to be running round all night.

    Daisybella - they'll look fab!

Ah well, off I go to pack an overnight bag. I'm having a two day jolly up to Newcastle to see Alesha Dixon on Wednesday and the RSC on Thursday. Should be good fun :D

Alexnikov, are you after ankle boots with a heel (I know that's a silly question probably, but thought I'd better check before I have a look)..

And I don't like the sole on the Office pair either :S

    Today's outfit -
Black and white rose print dress, H&M
Long grey cardigan / shrug thing (basically it's long sleeved, and then has a reeeeeally long scoop back, tricky to explain but i'll put a pic on the blog later) present from my mother from Matalan last weekend, £8
    black leggings
pinky purple glitter heels, from faith as my cheer up contrast to the rest of the outfit - the label says £50 but i imagine i got them in a sale (another pair i forgot i owned!)
pinky purple nail polish - Love by 17 (Boots offer the other day)..

Ooh, also, advice needed as to what to wear this with (another of my mum's presents the other day)..

Either flat or a small heel - can't wear proper heels to work unless they're of a reasonable size due to conservation reasons so it'd have to be either a chunky or cowboy boot type heel.
  • Morning all!

Thanks for the outfit advice - it is actually a lunch event (late morning to early afternoon) but thought it would be a good one for looking smart as well as being practical.

    Today's outfit, then, is:

    - Cream short sleeved wrap dress with blue trim and swirly flower patterns in orange and blue (Joe Browns)
    - Scoop neck long sleeved white top (Dorothy Perkins)
    - Sheer tights (M&S)
    - Brown mid calf flat boots (Rocket Dog)
    - Black wool mix military style flared coat (New Look) to come into work
    - Brown leather handbag (am thinking of getting a new one though)
    - Usual jewellery

Perfume and nail polish are the same as yesterday.

In work til half five, then home to work out and have a good chill. I am however hoping that my big project will finally be over today and I won't have to worry about it any more...

    Have a good Wednesday everyone!

  • Hi all, all sounding fabulous as always.

    Me today:
    Grey wraparound body ASOS
very wide legged jeans - Miss Selfridge about £20
thin brown woven belt - chazza shop somewhere at some time
And this is quite hard to describe - it's a white, blue and rust plaid thing that's cross between a caplet and a shrug with a zip up the front, I love it because it's a cross between being cute and punky - anyway it was made by someone called 'Sweet Charlotte' on Etsy, I bought it last year

Not intending to leave the house at the mo but if I do I'll put my black high top baseball boots on - No Sweat via Acesension about £30
