Oh now that's a thought. And I'm going to town after work so I shall brave the giant Primark and see what I can see. Thanks Bronnie
I'm going to one of the apartments here for a week. God bless my 50% staff discount! Lots of books and dvds, long walks round the lake and all the peace and quiet I wantI'm so looking forward to it.
That looks to be the perfect place to recharge your batteries!!
5o% discount is pretty helpful too!
We used to go to the new Quay hotel in Deganwy as our little bolthole from the stresses! Less than an hour's drive, we used to go late straight from work and take M&S sushi, cava and fresh mango for a midnight feast in the room, max out on the free facilities and spend a couple of hours on breakfast and newspapers....the views from the restaurant are amazing. When it first opened there were some really cheap deals....getting a bit pricier now, but I keep checking for offers. Fab Thai restaurant over the road for dinner too!
Now you've made me restless!!0 -
Ooh Bronnie, I love the Quay - have never stayed as my family have a weekend house in Deganwy, but have often been for spa treatments and breakfast on a Sunday morning as it's a lovely area for a walk and to end up there0

e've been away occasionally, but it tends to combine with business.Had a trip to Italy for four or five days which combined with a court hearing. Its lovely to have a change of scene and to be in a City I love, but its not relaxing when part of it is spent in Court!
A couple of years ago we got to Devon for a week...which was obliquey connected to my (previous and future) work but was lovely, despite the weather being vile.
We just seem to use all DH's leave for ''practical'' things. Or do nice things but only for a day/weekend.:o Biggest part of the problem now is all the animals: its just hard to get away!0 -
Ooh I'd love an actual holiday, I have about 3 wks worth of leave to use by the end of Dec and I know I'll just lose them, I haven't been abroad on holiday for about 3yrs. Just haven't got round to it, and now I have nobody to go with who has any holiday left for the yr
Oh well..

Ooohh! lucky you, i love it there, the scenery is fab. There used to be a Thai lady who did Thai message at the Quay, the effect, physically and emotionally was unbelievable. last time tho, I ended up with one of the beauty girls who just fiddled round rather ineffectually by comparison:rolleyes:.
I had a great aunt who used to live there years ago, I'm doing my family tree and use it as a base, so I try to justify the visits in the name of genealogical research :rotfl:. Ha ha! So, not true!
I think hols are a must and it doesn't matter how little I spend. In fact a cheap flight, local bus, basic room, local wine and simple food will do me just fine!!0 -

I go on my own a lot! But, I'm getting selfish after all my years of looking after everyone else!! It's fun, a little bit adventurous and indulgent!0 -

Black socks with pink trim and pink print (Primark)
Plus will be wearing my baby blue and white Nikes and my black wool cape coat when I go out but at the minute wearing my beaded Indian-style slippers from Bon Marche.

I am really tempted to just go for the cheapest possible last minute deal and head off to paris for a few days, to just be able to relax and do whatever i wanted for a few days of uninterrupted bliss..0
