Hi lovely ladies,
Sorry I wasn't around over the weekend, I had a huge arguement with dh and just wasn't feeling sociable at all. I think we're back on track, but I feel a bit wobbly about it all. I really dislike arguing, I'm a very chilled and laid back person normally. Plus it's upset my 3yr old dd.
Anyway, today I'm wearing:
black vest - M&S last year
burgundy/purplish 3/4 sleeve top which is too big - Top Shop £8 last year
wide black belt to pull top in - Primark
grey pencil skirt - Primark £13
black opaques
black mary janes - DP
black boyfriend cardie - M&S £25
Just taken my necklace off as it was clanging against my belt buckle and annoying me!0 -
Aw, clairac, hope you're feeling a little more upbeat today..
And hope all goes well at the dr, daisybella..
I had a fairly miserable weekend, with everything seeming to go wrong yesterday, which meant i was in my bed in tears by about 7pm..Gah..
Woke up this morning in a more positive mood, though..
Bought some gorgeous bright blue nail polish too, which I based my outfit around today..
Black tulle net layered strapless prom dress, H&M
Grey mohair (i think) cropped cardi, with tiny blue hearts on, River Island sale to cheer myself up yesterday, £15 (so glad I hadn't bought it a couple of weeks ago after all when I was tempted)
Black leggings
Turq blue jewel chunky ring, Accessorize
Turq blue and black leopard print shoes, Tatty Devine via ebay..
Blue/gold thread detail bangle, charity shop..0 -
*hugs* to Claire and PirateFairy
I waited an hour to be seen by my doctor
to be sent away with my prescriptions after 30 seconds as she was the emergency doctor and didn't have time to see me,
despite scheduling the appointment for me herself.
It sounds lame, but I walked out and promptly burst in to tears
I'm back in PJs now
I feel like wallowing.0 -
Aww it seems like everyone could do with a hug today (myself included)
Hope everyone feels cheerier soon :grouphug:0 -
evryone sounds so sad! How about we all wear something cheerful tmorrow to help? Make time for something that cheers you a little tonight my depressed chums some toenail polish, s body scrub before the shower or a happy glass of wine, and claire, if its sorted out with DH, perhaps a foot rub for him, nd some bubble bath for your wee one, or just a big family hug on the sofa tonight
.
I'm in blacktoday too, mymaxi dress, black flats and a cardi. Daisybella, weirdly, I'm frustrated with doctors too. I was meant to have an ultrasound tomorrow and called to confirm and they told me I've been shnted to next week at the earliest,
Still, that let me go out and do other stuff, and I bought a rally nice teapot.0 -
Everyone I have spoken to is having an awful day today
I feel some retail therapy coming on.0 -
Afternoon ladies
Not posted here for a while, sad to see that so many of you are having a bad time/feeling down in the dumpsI'm feeling a bit that way myself today - trying to do my best to help family and friends who are having troubles at the moment, and feeling pretty powerless to make them feel better
In lighter news (!) I have posted here in the past about never being able to find jeans that I like...well finally I have! They are from Simply Be, and called Eve jeans - bootcut with 33inch leg - I have long legs, wide bum, but my waist is generally a clothing size smaller than my backside, which makes buying jeans and trousers a pain in the well bum I supposeThese jeans are gorgeous, especially the indigo coloured ones - they fit perfectly all over, and look really smart (I'm sure you will all know what I mean by "smart jeans" and "casual jeans"?
) I've also got a couple of stonewash coloured pairs - these were only £7 in the sale with extra 20% discount - these are more casual, but will be fine for long walks at the weekend, and for when I am in the vaults lugging stuff around at work
So today I is mostly wearing:
Eve jeans in indigo (SB)
Black tunic top (Dotty P)
Black suede shoes (Cotton Traders)
Usual underwear and jewellery
Black swing wool look coat (Tesco)
Pale pink pashmina (eBay)
My Dad hasn't seen me in jeans for about 14 years, so he's going to get a shock when he sees me tomorrowDFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -
Woop, yay for you Buffy, it's such a fab feeling when you find the perfect pair of jeans
Huge hugs for everyone else. I like lir's suggestion of wearing cheerful things tomorrow. Might paint my nails an extravagantly colourful shade tonight
I'm another one all in black and grey today and my outfit is so dull that I can't even be bothered describing it. Although I do have a truly brilliant new scarf from Next - grey chunky cable knit and it has pockets at the end to tuck your hands in! I love it so.0 -
Hellooo!:hello:all!!
I'm feeling remarkably lighter in spirit today, having stuck myself into paperwork all day yesterday and this morning and now feeling much more organised and purged of the guilty feeling I've been getting every time I poke my head round the study door. What I need to do is just have another session, just to clear up less important loose ends/bits of filing, that I am, having reached this stage, prone to leave!
And it's a day off! And I'm going out for dinner tonight with a very old friend;)! And I'm off for a blow-dry in a minute!
So despite agreeing wholeheartedly with GG's comments the other day about being a 'seasonal' kind of person (and I'm defo Spring and Summer!), this particular October day is going OK!
All in black tonight, cowl neck long sweater and stretchy just above the knee skirt but jazzed up with a really fun, massively large random bunch of pearls long necklace..... pressie from Next. Black suede knee length boots (Clarks yonks ago) and my ivory Oasis 3/4 trench mac (£7 charity-shop-my-best-bargain-ever), haven't decided on a bag yet!
To all those who are fed-up today, I definitely approve of the treat-yourself suggestion!!!!

Buffy- yay jeans, finding the perfect pair is such a great feeling.
Alex, I like the bright nails idea, I might paint mine in a bit.. retail therapy isn't cutting it, I can't even spend money today (which is a good thing, really!)0
