Off at a slight tangent, just been reading a thread on OS, apparently there are folk there who are stock-piling food like mad and believe we are close to the point where the cash-points will no longer payout and extolling the value of having a wind-up radio and plenty of torch batteries just in case.

No doubt there are hard times still to come, especially with so many people losing their jobs and with families. The thing is I consider myself OS and thrifty in many ways, but all this in this day and age is something I find really hard to get my head around, even at my age. I wonder if I am burying my head in the sand here, girls??
Now, to the matter in hand. Can I get away with a glimpse of subtle black leopard print tights between black skirt and black knee length boot..........or should I stick to plain black opaques?
(I already know what you're all gonna tell me and for that I thank you in advance, but I just need to hear it IYKWIM!!)

I know what you mean about burying your head,
I refuse to believe it too, whilst at the same time accept it could very well happen
And go for the tights girl. DO IT.
Work uniform for me this morning
then whatever falls out the wardrobe when I get home, I'll update later.0 -
Hi folks
Been at work since stupid o'clock this morning - getting up in pitch dark on a Saturday morning is not my ideal way of starting the weekend and doesn't exactly bode well for inspiring clothes choices.
Anyway, I've tried to make a bit of an effort, as on this shift I normally look like something the cat's dragged in.
Grey tweed wool wide legged trousers
black skinny rib sweater
Nine West burgundy ankle boots (doubting the wisdom of these as they're rather high and my knee's starting to ache a bit now)
vintage Hermes scarf my husband found and bought for 50p on a bricabrac stall. Yes girls, that's right, my husband. I have trained him well. :T
Have a good day and don't forget, clocks go back tonight so an extra hour's snooze tomorrow!0 -
Bronnie, I don't believe something like that could ever happen. I think a lot of people get rather hysterical about the recession - the reality of recession is job losses, lack of credit and more public debt, not some kind of 28 Days Later end of the world scenario. Fair enough if people want to 'prepare' by stockpiling and buying rifles to shoot zombies or whatever, but posting those kind of Armageddon views on here makes me angry. Fear baiting on a public forum is stupid.
Anyway, that's my view on the matter. There was a thread on the Debating... board in a similar vein and it was total fantasy.
Back to the matter in hand... I'm currently wearing my amazing new owl print flannel pjs! It's wet and misty here in Yorkshire today, really hope it clears for later as my friends are coming to stay and we're going for a night on the town! Will update with today's outfit later.

Can someone remind my 4 month old of that please? Some how I think the changing of British Summer Time goes over his head. Shame really, I could do with an extra hours snooze!
I've had a look at your blog Daisybella - its really good. The jewellery you make looks amazing especially the charm bracelets! :j0 -

) but will reiterate in here too:

Househunting, so practical, and a repeat appearance of my long mustard yellow jumper, jeands, green pashmina and brown boots.
DH pointed out the house I like has least wardrobe space.
re recession, I don't know now, dh works mainy different area, but he was doing lots of due diligence for banks just before and during the crash, and he started to go grey. It was very, very bad then.
still, we're househunting, so we have faith.I do howevr think that priorities need to change as regards debt/spending habits, both for our longer term finances and for the world...the environment.. anyway, I save all that for th debate recession forum

I know! Not the right place to post my musings, I don't venture very far from Health, OS and Holiday boards anymore (time factor!) unless I'm researching something specific, so coming across this 'meltdown' thread in the normally sensible OS was a surprise, especially while I was trivially pondering tights (still!!)
Anyway, Good Morning all! Today is a lock myself in the study and do paperwork day and I have given myself a deadline as |I am a hopeless procrastinator when it comes to doing stuff I'm not so keen on. Thank goodness for the 'extra' hour, enabling me to have an earlier start and if you find me on here later , please shoo me away!
Dressed for comfort in Tu black sweater dress (£6 in sale ages ago)), but looking at it (in bright daylight with my glassses on) it has pilled and is looking a bit sad. Black footless tights and my pink and white heart patterned Per Una slippers. Also wearing an expression of resignation that today I have to knuckle down; although that will mean I am completely free to enjoy a day offf and night-out tomorrow!!:T
Have a good day y'all!!0 -
*yawns*
someone forgot to tell my body that the clocks changed, thus I was awake at 4:45am. Nightmare. 5:45 would have been a little more tolerable.
Needless today, a non effort outfit today consisting of boyfriend jeans, a white tee and a boyfriend cardi.
Not blog worthy, but might update with something random later regardless.0 -
