I had a small victory today I just have to share with someone:
I met up with an old friend from school today, I've seen her a few times since then (I'm 22 now) but I had probably never seen her fiance since then until today when he turned up to give us a lift. I was kinda an ugly duckling at school and much bigger than I am now and he was kinda one of the people that thought he was better than me at school IYSWIM.

Anyway my friend had asked him for a lift on the phone and he asked who I was, and she'd said "Oh you know so and so from school" and he'd obviously got a rather unflattering mental picture in his head from then, which I don't really fit anymore (thank God).

Anyway when he turned up the look on his face said it all really, I don't think until I was actually getting into his car did he realise that I was the right person! A small victory but made me so happy

    I love that story:D

Thank you Mrs_Ryan, are you the woman in the mags a while ago who follows Blue around? It was the KB thing that threw me, its great your sig means so much to you:)

DD has a teacher training day today so had a lie in and am still not dressed and am just having my first coffee so havnt even thought what to wear yet:rolleyes:

Peacocks Cancer Research dressing gown with matching slippers - thats it so far;)

Have a good friday, yaaaaay its the weekend:T
Thank you for this site Martin

    Good luck for the future

Argh I just typed a long reply then lost it :(

Claire- what about some bright scarves, or statement necklaces? They'll easily brighten up black without costing a lot.

I'm in a blah mood, and have a bee in my bonnet about the mess that is my room. I have a broken drawer to fix (thankfully only my jeans drawer which I rarely use)
and want to cull my "bits and bobs" drawers too, as they are a tip.

    Wearing
Grey sweater dress with pattern and pom pom detail at neck: Ethel Austin
    Raspberry tights: New Look

    and that's it :p

Will probably blog later as well.

Claire, I aree with daisy bella, black makes a wonderful background for statment pieces and bright colours.

I love black and yellow, black and red is classic, black and lime is brave and fresh. Black is also a great way to then wear lots of colours together over it.
  • Afternoon all!

Work is mental again - I will be so glad when this project is over - and so today's outfit is:

    - Pink V neck jumper (Dotty P's)
    - Brown tweed wide leg trousers (H&M via sister)
    - Nude ballet pumps with black bow (Dotty P's)
    - Electric blue trench coat (New Look) to come into work
    - Brown leather handbag
    - Usual jewellery

Perfume and nail polish are same as yesterday.

In work til around five, then home to do a workout and chill.

    Have a good Friday everyone!

  • Hi all, I'm off away for the weekend with some male friends and need an outfit that will do me all day tomorrow on the train, pub, food, but still be okay if I end up staying out in a late bar or club or something tomorrow night.

I'm think sweater dress, tights and pumps. With some dangley earings, probably my indian mirror ones. More dressy than jeans but not too ott that I'll feel uncomfortable during the day or with my mates? My dress is this one in indigo http://www.asos.com/Kuyichi/Kuyichi-Knitted-Ide-Self-Belt-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=809883&cid=8548&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Black.

I'm ashamed to admit I've been in the t shirt I did the animals in up until ..er...now. Now I'm in black and white maxi dress from monsoon this summer (a great purchase, worn all summer) black cardigan, barley there makeup. unning out of my new favourite perfume: lovely orangeblossomy prada stuff . I often make my own, somewhat dubious mixes, (usually mixing violet with rose scents) but today the Prada got lengthened with some lovely Marc Jacobs Violet (which I think he's stopped? violet is a strong scent of my childhood and very dear to me so this more grown up light version was a treat).

I'm wearing big socks now, when I go out it should be black flats, but migt just slip on whatever is by the door thisafternoon for the feed merchant and petrol station.

    Morning everyone!

I'm sooo tired from sitting up late to watch Question Time and then "discussing" with dh lol. TGI it's Friday.........

Same here! Plenty to chat about with the regulars down the swimming baths today.

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend. Just in the process of selecting the jumble sales to go to this weekend as the weather, although the weather is absolutely gorgeous today, it looks horrific for saturday.

    Today's oufit:
Gold brocade print satin shift dress (£2 sample sale)
    Black opaques
Black vintage knee-high leather boots (£2 car boot sale)
Chartreuse coat with huge baloon sleeves (TopShop sale 3 years ago)
Vintage black leather belt with gold chains (Chazza shop 80p)
Accesorize wood rings (Car boot 20p each)
Mixture of brass and wood bangles (Car boot sales)
Black vintage 1950's gold framed bag with yellow rose print (20p car boot)
Urban Outfitters black scarf necklace with studs and rivets (Car boot sale, was £30 cost 50p)

Claire, like LiR and Daisy I reckon black makes an excellent background for showcasing quirky items - I've got a lime green leopard chiffon scarf which only seems to work with a plain black top plus a couple of belts with outrageous clasps which would be lost on anything of colour.

    Have a lovely day, gang!
