Hello Sharron and Bronnie! It's great to have you back Sharron, I've been following your No Clothes Buying thread avidly. Hope the "weird direction" your life is taking you is a pleasant one.
Bronnie - thanks for your lovely comments about my attempt at a blog (if anyone's interested just click on my user name and select the Homepage option.)
Several friends have encouraged me over the years to write a weekly column or book about my thrifty lifestyle. I just want to try and inspire people to rethink the way they shop and for everyone to realise that you can have a cool home and a glamorous wardrobe without a credit card or a heap of debt.0 -

Yes goanmad the 'weird direction' is a surprising one, i'll give u the edited hightlights. Been doing some work for the old company i worked for. (they needed cover for sickness) I had done the job for 12 years with a brief break in which i worked for next. I knew my technicians job inside out, although very stressful, i got really bored and was having difficultys with my son who has a learning disability, so i threw in the towl to be a sahm, which i LOVE. However, since doing the sickness cover i realised that i could be a pharmacist, so i have looked into it and i MAY just do it, depending on finances as i will have to pay university fees.
Just looked at your blog and it is fab, i expected no less from you though, your outfits always sound amazing!!
Sharron xxSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
Glowgirl - fab bargains!
Goanmad - I another fan of your blog. Love the crocheted dress - just gorgeous.
It's grey and dull here, and I feel a bit like that myself. I've been to the doctor today and she told me my age is catching up (meant in a jokey way, been seeing her for years and years) and that I have a carpal tunnel/rsi typ problem or starting to get arthritis in my hands!!!! Off to stock up on glucosamine sulphate at her recommendation.
Today I'm wearing:
burgundy vest - ancient
burgundy lacey, fake wrap around cardie - ancient again!
grey pencil skirt - Primark £13
black opaques - Tesco I think
black mary janes - Dp sale £15
Forgot my beads!! I do have on white gold and diamond (not as bling as it sounds :rotfl:!!) bracelet, earrings and necklace that my dh bought me as a wedding present. If they're on me, I know they're safe and not going to get lost at home with all the furniture moving etc.0 -
Everyone sounds like they are looking gorgeous today
I'm so at a loss of what to do with my time today haha. I wasted ALL of yesterday on blogging. If it wasn't raining I'd go for a mooch around the charity shops, hmm,
that might become my plan for tomorrow. I have dangerous shopping urges.
Of course, I could do something productive like make some jewellery, or sort out some of my over flow of old clothes.

Sharron & Bronnie, it's lovely to see you back on here
And hello to all the new posters as well!
I'm another one who's loving the blogs. goanmad - any chance you'll be posting a pic of the Bayeux tapestry skirt? It sounds amazing! daisybella - I followed the link on your blog to Can't Help but Be and oh my word, I am sorely tempted to buy lots of the Sunday Girl Accessories jewellery.
Today's outfit is a bit more summery than autumnal but then it's not really cold enough here today for big cardigans etc so I'm getting as much wear as possible out of my summer clothes:
Indigo jeans
Crazy flower print cotton floaty top
Yellow short sleeved cardi which I've customised a bit with flower shaped buttons
Green Flash
Gold scrollwork bangle0 -
Alex- Sunday Girl is just divine, and the girl who runs it is so lovely. She gave me a 50% off discount for writing about her as well, which sorted a few christmas presents0
