I quite enjoyed 'So you think you can dance?' I missed the results show too but found it online eventually - wasn't on BBC website
My problem with these shows is I get fed up with the in-between stuff - I find it boring. I like the dances and that is it!!
The two who went out were Anabel and Chris (I think?) One was the girl who did the Jive (in the gold dress) and Chris danced the samba with Hayley who has blonde hair and comes from dancing family.
I just love watching dance though! Although enough of the backflips! I was a bit miffed with a backflip in the middle of the American Smooth - !!!!!! this is ballroom!! All a bit grandstanding for me. Totally in place with a Broadway or Hip Hop routine but not in ballroom!
I think I might be a bit out of date with your problems? I thought your mum was helping you out with a loan for the works to your house? That is positive news right?
Anyway hopefully something good comes out of this period of reflection. Try to take heart that you are doing your best and that you also have to live your life so that you are well (both physically and mentally). It isn't a bad thing to choose yourself sometimes. We all need to be 'selfish' at times.
I don't mind the in between bits. I quite like seeing the training and stuff like that.
So the pair that went out weren't dancing together??I thought it was a couple who were dancing together.
Yeah, I was a bit surprised by the back flip too. I thought they were going to get slated actually because for a Foxtrot American Smooth there seemed to be very little Foxtrot, or in fact, ballroom content.
My Mum is going to help me out with a loan to get some work done on the house and it is good news. It's a little more complicated than that though, that would just be too simple for my life  I'll send you a PM.
I wish I could be a little more selfish sometimes. Not that I'm some saint or something, but life would be easier sometimes if I didn't care so much.
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
True, i do like watching the training. I just don't really like 'meet the families' and also it takes ages with all the recaps.
I have to say I like Nigel and Arlene as judges. They seem to be quite genuine and I think the criticism they give is helpful. Much better than X-Factor as they are so biased.
I read a really long explanation of each episodes voting. All a bit complicated.
I think the bottom two couples then had to perform a solo each and then the judges saved two.
I think later on they start swapping partners (ooh er missus!) and some weeks they also do solos and group dances......
I agree re: Smooth choreography, I guess problem is the dancers didn't do that themselves so can't be judged on it????
I hope things improve for you - always more complicated than you expect.
Have you thought about deliberating setting aside some time for yourself so that you can honestly say 'sorry I've something in my diary'I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Hi Gwen,
sorry that life is till being a b!tch to you.
Yeh, getting 'advice & suggestions' can be very annoying indeed, have had plenty of those over the years, most completely unsuitable for my circumstances but there you go.
I keep telling myself that I have a remarkable well developed character due to all the building that's been done on it over time :rotfl:.
Really hope that something improves soon & I know you'll appreciate this little gem;
dear father recently told me that he's planing to spend 6 months in Spain next winter ... you gotta :rotfl:or else you0 -

Oh my God, how complicated is it? I'm going to struggle to follow this programme... I did think it a little unfair if one half of a couple performed badly that they both got sent home, so I guess the way they've done it, is a little bit fairer.
Yes, I was thinking that about the Smooth. I liked the dance, I just didn't think it really did what it was meant to doThe judges seemed to love it though, but like you say they can't really judge on the choreography.
I'm going to try and have a quiet couple of weeks, sorting a few things out, then I start my salsa course and I'm going to look into doing a climbing courseHi Gwen,

Hi Lula
Things are getting a bit better. I'm just worn out now. I felt like I had such a good break over Christmas/New Year and now I feel like I may aswell have worked all the way through it for how tense I feel. Things will get better, they have to.
Oh, I've had plenty of inappropriate advice and suggestions over the years, mainly from my Dad, who I blatantly ignore now  He doesn't know me, he knows nothing about my life and he's made a total and utter mess of his own life...why on earth would I want his advice? At the moment though, it's advice for me which generally I've already tried and just adds yet more jobs to my massive list that I have already. My brother could do something to help. Just giving me more work, doesn't really help that much!
On the plus side I have Fosters
Oh gosh, Lula. Is your DD still travelling to work on the train? At horrible times of the day and night? Karma, Lula...:D
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Feeling a little better about things today. Trying to get on with stuff.
Music magpie parcel has been posted - a cheque for all of £6 should be winging it's way to me soon. Still that's slightly less carp than I used to have
Went to the shops after work to return a few things from before Christmas.
I just ordered an underwear set from M&S that I lurveYay me! :j I thought I deserved a treat and I thought the evoucher would finally work, but it didn't
I'm going to need to call them up tomorrow. I feel like telling them not to bother. Everytime I try to use it, either the voucher doesn't work or they mess up the order
Still need to call Oasis, that's on my 'to do' list for tomorrow as is calling Hastings Direct. It'd just be nice if just one thing happened as it should without me having to make a load of phone calls to chase it up...

Hoorah for new lovely things. I love M&S underwear, such good quality. about the e-voucher though!Oh my God, how complicated is it? I'm going to struggle to follow this programme... RE: dancing show - agree is a bit complicated. Will prob just watch first show but all depends.
Salsa sounds fab as does climbing. I think very hot guys go climbing and you will have fab toned arms in no time! I can see good things coming of this! :j
A frivolous story about carp advice - my ex (who i'm in contact with and is a kind of fwb) rang a couple of days ago and I mentioned going spinning. He then felt he had to give me this top advice - pace myself and take some water to drink....... !!!!!! what does he think I do, pedal so hard at the start that I collapse in exhaustion the whole while massively dehydrated cos drinking is for losers????? I think some people feel obliged to give advice regardless of whether it is useful / wanted / relevant :mad:I've got my own flat :j:j

Oh I do hope soI definitely NEED to do some exercise, but I hate the gym and things like that. I generally like exercise that doesn't feel like exercise and if hot men are there, that's a bonus.
A guy I used to work with was a climber and I spent many a dull meeting staring at his arms...A frivolous story about carp advice - my ex (who i'm in contact with and is a kind of fwb) rang a couple of days ago and I mentioned going spinning. It is frustrating. It can be really patronising. It probably is just people wanting to help, I'm probably one of them myself, but it can be annoying.claire0788 wrote: »Make up you made me laugh there ! I can just picture the scene, "water is for losers, water is for losers..."
