Ah, glad you enjoyed it. Wasn't it terribly cold sitting outside for all that time though? I really hate being cold though, so probably couldn't hack it.

It wasn't too cold yesterday actually. The worst thing was when we got out at the service station it was snowing, I had the most hideous footwear on, stupid pump things that are for the summer months! My feet were soaked and freezing beyond belief. Then when we parked the car we had to walk to get the bus and the snow was just as bad there, really slushy in bits and I might aswell have not bothered wearing shoes! There were times I felt like crying it was so bad. But once we were in the ground I didn't even think about it, was enjoying myself too much. And as soon as we got back in the car they soon warmed up. At least I now know not to go in such stupid shoes again!

I don't know what that is about people not get their money from the bingo sites. I withdrew some the other day and it worked ok, it did take a few days, I can;t remember how many exactly but it wasn't anything unacceptable.

Glad to hear you've got your embarrassing cd's packed away. And to think you didn't want to invite a man back to your house because of the state it's in, I'd have worried more about the cd collection :rotfl: Only jokin, I bet mine are worse than yours, I'll let you know once I've had a look!

Nice one on the M&S voucher front! And treating yourself to some underwear sounds like the perfect way to use it. I never buy myself underwear, I always wait till b'day and xmas :o

:mad::mad: To Nationwide, I can't believe it's still not sorted. What could possibly take so long :mad: I hope you manage to get somewhere with them this week.

Also.. I have a barclaycard but I'm on interest free at the moment to I've not had the problem with minimum payments.Sounds about right for them though! It's totally ridiculous them doing that!
    Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
    Debt now Jan 2021 - £6,208.21
    Overpayment pot - £0

Oh dear. It's been an awful week and the weather has been the least of my problems, let's just leave it at that. I did manage to get into work every day though which I'm pretty pleased with. Note to self - must try to remain employed...

I'm exhausted and moneysaving has become quite a low priority. However, I'm trying to keep my eye somewhat on the ball (with many balls currently in the air ) as letting things slip completely isn't going to help anybody. Just so I know where I am really and what I have to try and sort out when I get some time:

Oasis have not refunded the items I sent back to them  - Done, refunded and I've made almost £28 profit!

Hastings Direct have not sent me my £30 fuel voucher  - must make stroppy phone call - Done, Hastings Direct say they're sorting it out and will get it posted out to me.

Nationwide have now said they are moving over my DD's/SO's (in your own time....) and will honour the £50

Need to activate AA credit card I got through quidco - Done

My £20 cashback for A&L online saver hasn't tracked and I can't query till end of Feb apparently  - To do in Feb

Must try and use £15 ecoupon from M&S and £10 ecoupon from Tesco - worried they might run out before I get to use them

Must post parcel of CD's to music magpie - Done

I'm sure there's more, but they're not coming to me at the moment. Will update again later if they do.

Why can't people do what they're meant to do/what they've said they're going to do??? Not in the mood for all this carp.

    Gwenx

ETA - The one I couldn't remember....my finances are generally in a mess with Christmas, NW move etc, etc - must print out some statements, sit down with them and sort it all out

Not much really. My flat is a TIP and I really really need to do some cleaning.

I went to a spinning class this morning so at least have got my exercise in.

I was supposed to be going out last night but friend cancelled due to weather so at least won't be spending too much.

I would quite like to head out and get some knitting needles and wool so I can start learning to knit and so might do that tomorrow.

I probably need to hit Tatco for a few essentials to go with my veg box but I have plenty of meat in the freezer from my meat delivery so just need to sort out a meal plan for next week.

And I want to catch 'so you think you can dance' tonight!!!

    Hi Gwen,

sorry to hear you're having a rubbish week :grouphug: that's a whole heap of rubbish you've had.

Christmas finances are just grim, eve when well planned, there's always something unaccounted for that occurs.

Hope you get plenty of rest if nothing else :)

Thanks Lula. Things are getting slightly better. I'm just majorly p1ssed off. I deal with all this on my own on a reasonably regular basis. My brother is full of 'helpful suggestions' of things I can do to improve the situation, but he's too busy with his family and his career to actually get off his backside and do anything. Lucky you, my career is none existent and unfortunately, I have no option, but to deal with this  And then there's the 'helpful suggestions' of other people who quite frankly have no bl00dy idea what they're talking about. I just feel very alone with all this. Argh!

On the plus side, the parcel has been posted to music magpie.

Oh Gwen, no suggestions 'helpful' or otherwise - just totally feel for you.

Really annoying when people give advice that is either completely unrealistic or else pathetically patronising.

Just hope you feel better soon and you get some useful ideas or thoughts about your situation.

    Take care

    xx

    Thanks makeup :A

I am getting useful thoughts and ideas, there just seems too many of them for me to look into and implement myself. My brother I think, could do something, but he's 'too busy'. Grrr. Things are getting better this week, I guess I'm just very aware that things can come crashing back down again at any point.

What did you think to 'So you think you can dance?' I missed the results so I don't even know who left.

I quite enjoyed 'So you think you can dance?' I missed the results show too but found it online eventually - wasn't on BBC website

My problem with these shows is I get fed up with the in-between stuff - I find it boring. I like the dances and that is it!!

The two who went out were Anabel and Chris (I think?) One was the girl who did the Jive (in the gold dress) and Chris danced the samba with Hayley who has blonde hair and comes from dancing family.

I just love watching dance though! Although enough of the backflips! I was a bit miffed with a backflip in the middle of the American Smooth - !!!!!! this is ballroom!! All a bit grandstanding for me. Totally in place with a Broadway or Hip Hop routine but not in ballroom!

I think I might be a bit out of date with your problems? I thought your mum was helping you out with a loan for the works to your house? That is positive news right?

Anyway hopefully something good comes out of this period of reflection. Try to take heart that you are doing your best and that you also have to live your life so that you are well (both physically and mentally). It isn't a bad thing to choose yourself sometimes. We all need to be 'selfish' at times.
