Wolstenholmes!!!! Beware!!!

I am so glad i got a refund from cowboyhomes my purchase of my house was very stresful but at least my solictor called me every other day and constant email correspondence with the abillty to pop into her office locally. I know for a fact i would never have bought my house if i carried on with cowboyhomes.

im a first time buyer (was) and new to all house buying but from 2-3 weeks with wolstenhomes do not use them and AVOID them at all costs. You will loose your house and will cause so much additional stress, you can never get hold of anyone and they dont call you back..

The only time i had great service was when they were trying to get me signed up and called me 6 times in 1 day leaving 3 voicemails. After deposit the service was 0%. Its not worth saving £300-£500 for this non existing service

Exactly! They are so quick and prompt to give you a quote via phone and email (amazingly quick responses) and take your money, that's what suckers you in!! As soon as they are required to do some real work, that's when they go quiet on you. hmmmmmmm!

Wolstenholmes are RUBBISH AVOID THEM!!!

Keen to take your money and id but never do any work. They must be crooks no one has any thing good to say about them. I still have not recieved back any of my documents as they promised me.

I'm dealing with the Birmingham office and there have been some ups and downs.

I hate the log in side of things on their site.It's there to keep you informed on progress but actually doesn't give all the facts.Only shows what has happened when that part of the file is completed.

Also the words on their website make me really cringe.This is total rubbish...................
We will keep you informed every step of the way

I do hope they are cheap but I also hope I get thousands of pounds back as there will be a surplus with my mortgage.

I went with Wolstenholmes, not only was it an absolute nightmare as they delayed (including while they had the WHOLE amount of money sat in their bank account, not just a deposit, the whole lot), ignored me and allegedly told lies to the seller's solicitors about me, which nearly lost me the sale - (I say allegedly as they have never denied it despite being given the opportunity, but have not specifically admitted it)

I raised a complaint back in July but have had no response....

I've just found out that it seems their (alleged) failure to check the terms with the freeholder is now going to cost me nearly £1000 a year, every year, in additional charges. Because they didn't get the freeholder to confirm the free use of the facilities (which wasn't in the lease, just in a letter to the seller) at the point of sale the letter became unenforceable by anyone, so this also means that there is no restriction on how much the freeholder can charge me!:eek: the freeholder thinks he's struck gold and actually laughed at me to my face.

I'm just putting together my complaint to the legal complaints service.

so glad i cancelled and eventually got a refund after "googling" wolstenhomes and finding similar threads about the cowboys. I know for a fact i would have lost my house . Feel sorry for people that are still with them and can only guess the strain and stress caused. Avoid avoid avoid.

Just because you send a letter and it doesnt get returned, doesnt mean the place exists! In another thread, someone went to one of the several London Offices listed only to find that there was no knowledge of Wolstenholmes trading from that specific address. I am at the end of a chian where our first time buyer is using your company ( only 3 of us in chain) the process started at end of may beginning of June. We are going into rental, your clients mortgage offer finishes end of this month the date of completion 30th sept has been on the cards for over a month. we are now still awaiting to exchange (we have to sort out and sign up to rental property and arrange removals which is a 2 day job as we are relocating!) we cannot do any of these things till we exchange and the sale is likely to collapse as we will not be able to get removals or we will lose our rental property. My solicitor has been calling yourselves and emailing to establish where you are at as I have been told all ready to go, then each day something else seems to need doing, but cannot get any replies from yourselves. your company is putting peoples lives under alot of stress and uneccessary hardship by being so completely incompetent. I am sure the first time buyer in our chain will not be happy if it falls through as he would have spent on surveys etc, however until your company gets its act together we are not getting anywhere. we have been told twice the person dealing with is on holiday so we cannot exchange this is totally ludicrous a company like yours should be struck off!!!
