Hi,
A bit about me then, i'm a married mom of 4 children under 10, have a mortgage (interest only), loan & credit/store card debt. My DH earns an ok wage which covers all the household bills however we rarely have anything left over to save for the other things that crop up like broken equipment, car tax etc.
I have cut back on most things i can but find £240 isn't quite enough for my brood really need to work on this.
I'll be recording my spends here in a hope to find any areas i can save in and kerb unnecessary spending.
I would be grateful for any support & wish anyone who reads this success with their debt busting.

Times are tough on most people at the moment, and asking for help is great.
Prob one area that you can cut back or make more of your money is probably with the food bill. Check out the oldstyle board - honestly they are complete whizzes at making the pennies super stretchy!!
Good luck!!** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

Hello and welcome to diaryland too. Like you, I am trying so hard with budgetting and loving every minute of it. Struggle a bit with the food shopping too, but getting better all the time, so stick with it, and keep posting. Good luck.0

Thanks for your replies.
Well apart from a online tesco shop of about £135 which should last about 3 weeks i haven't spent anything today, as i haven't been out of the house. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow too!

right i will try again 2 post lost in 2 day!
will also be using this to record my weight loss (if any) need to lose about 2st i think, don't own any scales so will update once i have been to get weighed. would love to go back to SW can justify spending 4.50 to step on some scales though so good old b@@ts will have to do.
No spend day today as no plans to go anywhere, online food shop is coming though but it is a planned spend. Will also record my grocery shopping, £240 budget running from 13/8-11/9.

Yay, well done on your NSD. Good luck with your slimming too. I like SW too, but like you grudging the subs every week. I have the books though so should be able to do it myself, but for some reason it is not working?!0

well unfortunately it wasn't a NSD as planned £1.44 for a loaf of bread and some sweets for the kids so could of been a lot worse!
Diet going ok its day 4 today and not feeling too bad, not missing my beloved chocolate as yet. Must get weighed soon otherwise i can't tell how well i have done.
i have the books too primula from a few years ago, i always do quite well until i have lost some weight and decided to leave.
Really need to start saving i'm going away for a few nights in a couple of months for my BIG b-day, have paid for my passport, flights & hotel through selling on e-B@y, old phone & old bank account that had a few pounds in. DH is hopefully selling his bike that has been in the garage for a couple of years and has used 3 times, men! This should be enough for my spends.

Good morning,
Sun is shining so must put the washing on the line in a minute, so no tumble dryer today yay! Nan is buying me an indoor airer today as well which i said i would pay for but she said no bless her.
Will have to check with DH but should be a NSD, however i need to have my hair cut so maybe not lol.
Day 5 - Diet going well, no chocolate so far:j, will go to b@@ts to get weighed today hoping its not as bad as i think.
Will check in later.

Morning,
Well it wasn't a NSD yesterday as i brought 2 hair colours £6 and i forgot to get weighed whilst i was there.
This morning i had to go back to change one of the colours, had a voucher for £5 off so ended up buying a no7 brow pencil & electric blue tights £3.25 spent, no too bad.
Remembered to get weighed and although i didn't have a starting weight i'm less than the 11st 7lbs i thought i would be, so my starting weight is 10st 11lbs. Hoping to lose 3lbs over the next week, fingers crossed.
Think total spends for today will be £41.55, expensive weekend in my book. Hair will only be £10 at the most from now on as i'm colouring it myself and will only need a cut i usually pay £30 so i have halved it :j.
£3.25 - B@@ts
£0.50 - weigh in
£15 - Petrol
£2 - Football club
£20 - hair
£0.80 - magazine (oops)
Sun is shining and its windy perfect drying weather.
To do list
Hang washing out
Put washing in
Do dishes & tidy kitchen
Hoover downstairs
Get hair done
Relax and watch the football
Will catch up later
