Once your tesco points are converted to AirMiles they can be spent on anything that they sell ie. package holidays, flights, car hire, eurostar etc.

It used to be for every 1000miles = £60 discount on package holidays / charter flights (anything booked through a tour operator)

Scheduled flights / Eurostar have a fixed mileaged dependant on availability.

I used to work there, apologies if this info is out of date, but I am pretty sure this is still the way they work.

If I'm working it out properly it would cost you around £42.50 in tesco clubcard tokens for 1000 airmiles / £60 off, which is a pretty poor return when other deals would get you £42.50 x 4 = £176.

    Hi Flo...long time no speak.....

I think you are right about this, imho, the people who think airmiles are good value, are those people who believe they have got their points free, (and disregard the possible 4x value) It costs around £140 from Manchester to London using airmiles.....I'm sure this can be done for a great deal less.....(about £30 total i think)

I just tried an example...it wanted about 32,000 miles off me, then changed its mind and wanted £1200 in cash + lots of miles....

Come back MFI, French Life, Yates and Motorpoint....all is forgiven......
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

I would suggest people do not panic convert and get on and book an even more overpriced holiday, jsut convert to airmiles. Been doing quite a lot of research into it the last few days and I think we will all be better off going there and saving our rewards and converting them to airmiles.

Can you please explain how you come to the conclusion that Airmiles are good value, when they charge you around £140 to do any domestic UK flight...........and International are rediculously more "over the top"...

  • does anyone know if airmiles coverted from tesco cc points could be used to pay for hotel only, as its quite easy to get cheap flights to europe these days, i was thinking of booking flights with easyjet and paying for hotel with airmiles, any advice would be great as i have approx £6000 in deals( mostly gained in the good old days of H&B ) and at a loss on what to spend them on

I'm so gutted over the Virgin limit, Cosmos I can live without but was hoping to do another freebie to Florida with Virgin, I can only travel during school holidays so I've no hope of that on £700.

When MFI left Virgin joined and that made up for losing MFI, but now theres not much left for me with deals, I've promised hubby he can have the deals I've got now to buy a nice watch in Goldsmith before they impose limits.

I think P&O will be next to put limits on and then thats pretty much all the decent holiday options gone.

Unless they are free points now I won't be going out of my way to collect anymore.

No R&R, no decent clubcard rewards = shopping elsewhere.

P&O would be my coice if I had that amount of deals, there are some lovely cruise options and great value as just about everything except alcohol is paid for.

I think airmiles is a really poor return you are probably better off selling them for half their 4x value.

You could still just make the deadline with virgin if you sent for your deals vouchers now, holidays have to be booked by 31st Aug.

The manager and assistant manager always greet by my name, the trolley 'lad' is the best ever....the Sa's are always pleasant and helpful. The butcher is a Master Butcher, he recommends various cuts of meat and always points out the offers and the meat is beautifully presented...the fishmonger likewise...I have never had anything of 'poor' quality from them. They are cutting/matching prices and their offers are brilliant.....the store I use is immaculately clean and alwys well stocked , I hate Asda...so noisy and brash........each to their own.... ...I have Tesco for telephone line rental and calls, get Tesco points with Eon, and have Tesco Travel Insurance, guaranteed no probs when using your deals vouchers for hols/breaks....
I was invited in to the managers office a few weeks ago as he wanted my opinions on his store...had I any any complaints or suggestions...Tell me now ...has your Asda or Morrisons ever asked/cared you personally what you think?

Bullshot you are either Terry Leahy in disguise or you have extremely low expectations. As I said previously, I shopped at Tesco for many years until recently but owing to the poor quality of meat in particular I swithched to Sainsburys. I find the quality of their produce and service far superior and I would never go back to Tesco even though it is closer.

To answer your question Sainsbury's certainly do care what their customers think. If you saw the recent Channel 4 programme I'm Running Sainsbury's you would have seen they take the issue very seriously. If you like Tesco that's your perogative but it is a fact that they are one of the most disliked organisations in the UK.
