Kleeneze Catalogues

I absolutely detest junk mail in any form and I am registered with the MPS.

However, I am currently being bombarded with Kleeneze catalogues (at least 4 a month). I have always left them on the doorstep without even looking at them but I am sick of the sight of Kleeneze catalogues. I have now started binning them - short of putting a big sign on my door saying I don't want any more Kleeneze catalogues, is there anything else I can do to stop this????

Put a sign in your window saying that you don't buy from kleeneze and that you don't want to receive a catalogue

We had this for a while with Kleeneze and Betterware. Seemed like there was always a catalogue on our mat.

There is usually a little note inside the plastic wallet saying when they will return to collect the book (alternatively use the order form - they will ALWAYS look at that :D) ~ I just put a polite note on the back of that to thank them for delivering their book, but I did not need any of the products, and asked for them not to deliver again - it did the trick.

Many of the people who delivery these are either ignorant or can't read, either way they ignore two notices I have put up, one on the letter box the other on a glass panel just above the letter box. I didnt even bother putting them out anymore as they rarely pick them up anyhow, at least not on the day, and they have been left outside for days getting wet. So now I just recycle them. I dont waste my time ring them up or the other stupid Betaware because quite frankly they dont give a stuff, so neither do I.

put a one penny stamp on it and post it back to the head office, it should get there and they will have to pay the postage shortfall.
  • If they are ignoring your requests not to leave them outside then I agree you should start binning them.

To be honest, it doesn't bother me. I pick it up from my door mat and put it back outside.

To me I remember only too well being short of money and taking on Avon, and Betterware in my late teenage years to fill the gap while searching for my first job. Remember we are all looking at ways to save money, and others are trying to find ways of earning.

I try not to begrudge them trying to earn a top up, and I place the books back on the doorstep as I am aware they have to buy their catalogues so if I bin them they are loosing out on money as they can't leave them for another customer.

With reference to Mail Preference Service, I think that is only applicable for mail that comes via your postman!

Or better still how about a sign on your door saying "Kleeneze/Betterware/Avon salespeople will be shot" bandevil8rh.gif

Hi folks - I am a Kleeneze agent.

The cause of the problem is the fact that we are all self employed and working pretty much individually. We have no idea what other agents are doing in any given area. It is therefore possible that you may get several identical catalogues from different agents in a short space of time. There is nothing we can do about this.

Complaining to Kleeneze will not help as they have absolutely no idea who is putting catalogues where. They do not give us an "area" or customer list - it is a free for all.

Personally I now only deliver catalogues to people who have ordered from me in the past, as I have a decent customer base. However the only way to find out who is interested when you are starting up is to put a catalogue through every letterbox. I always respect notices which say no catalogues, but I can't guarantee that others will. I always also put a slip of paper inside the catalogue the first time I deliver to a particular house, with a box to tick saying "yes please" to more catalogues. No order and no tick means no more catalogues.

Kleeneze agents have to pay for their catalogues - they cost more than 50p each. We really appreciate people leaving them out for us to collect. Some agents are more diligent than others about collecting them, but there should be a name, address and telephone number on the order form and catalogue. My advice is leave the catalogue out with a note saying no more please, and if it is not collected on the stated day, bin it. You could also phone the agent and request no further catalogues.

I know it is annoying to be bombarded with things you are not interested in, but we are only trying to earn a little money, and many housebound old people really appreciate having goods delivered to their door. I have been subjected to quite nasty verbal abuse and had catalogues hurled at my head in the past, and I can tell you it is not at all pleasant.

    Hope this helps.

I agree with the above. I did Kleeneze for a couple of years, and my FIL still does it as his main source of income.

We are just trying to earn some extra money. I detested the people who just threw them away, as it cost me time and money to make up for their selfishness. It is not hard to just put it back outside again, or leave it in a porch if you have one.

If you put a clearly visible sign on the door stating you don't want any more catalogues, people will abide by it.

I also encountered all sorts of weirdo's when I did it. I don't understand the problem. So what if you occaisionally get a few more catalogues? It's not covered by the MPS anyway, as it isn't mail.

The agents work very hard for their money and perhaps you should be a bit more considerate.
