i actually like kleeneze type catalogues and 9 times out of 10 find something in them i want / need :)

like said ,they are only trying to make a bit of cash ,if you dont want to buy just leave outside and if not collected put in your recycle box / bin
  • I appreciate all your responses and I take on board what Kleeneze (past & present) Agents are saying. However, it really cheeses me off when I do leave them on my doorstep (which I've always done until now) and they don't bother coming back to collect them - there's nothing worse than chasing catalogues around my garden when they've blown away.

I did previously order a couple of bits from Kleeneze many months ago but nothing ever materialised. Maybe my order is blowing around someone's street !

It is frustrating when people don't do the job properly. I often see other agents catalogues, particularly betterware, soggy and wet on doorsteps for weeks, so I can undeerstand your irritation.

If anyone is going to order from these catalogues, first make sure that the agent has given a name and address, and a landline phone number. Make a note of them so you can contact them in case of problems. A good agent will leave a thank you slip when they collect an order, with contact details on it, and if goods are not satisfactory they should always be returnable within 30 days.

Agreed. If it isn't collected withing a week of the specified time then by all means recycle it. I do the same, but then I would always come and get my catalogues. I would also put a sticker on the order form with my name, address and landline number, and would leave a thank-you slip for any orders (or a "sorry I missed you" slip if the catalogue was not out and there was nobody home).

The agents that just scribble a first-name and a mobile number on the order form are worth avoiding.

My FIL actually has his photo on his slips!

As I stated before there are many that don't read two notices, and I have had catalogues for day outside my door awaiting to be picked up, often they are not, or the few times they do read the notices and don't leave a catalogue they knock on door and ask. I am personnel sick of them and any who comes to sell me anything at the door that is why I go out of my way warning them not to knock and leave out, I don't want it.

I understand you may be wanted some extras, who doesn't I am short myself of cash, but I do feel that Kleeneze and co should take some responsibility and tell its agents not to go to certain houses as they wont get a warm welcome. Is that so hard? Its my house and my property I don't want this on my doorstep or in my house for that matter.

If you put a clearly visible sign on the door stating you don't want any more catalogues, people will abide by it.

I got one sticker via Trading standards in Yorkshire. I also have a bright green sticker on the letter box you cant miss it unless your blind.
  • I'm obviously not in a minority with having such strong feelings about this. I will get in touch with my Trading Standards Office to see if they have any stickers - if not, I'll make one myself and laminate it and stick it on my window.

I think some opinions are correct - if people see the notice and choose to ignore it and continue to bombard me with catalogues then I feel I'm justified in disposing of them in my recycling bin.

It's not just Kleeneze (although they are the worst culprits) but there is always someone knocking on the door asking if I want my gutters cleaned/windows replaced/joinery work done!

You used to be able to get self-adhesive "No Hawkers" signs - don't know if they are still available.

(Would they know what it meant??)

I absolutely detest junk mail in any form and I am registered with the MPS.

However, I am currently being bombarded with Kleeneze catalogues (at least 4 a month). I have always left them on the doorstep without even looking at them but I am sick of the sight of Kleeneze catalogues. I have now started binning them - short of putting a big sign on my door saying I don't want any more Kleeneze catalogues, is there anything else I can do to stop this????

I with you and all these type of catalogues I just bin. They soon stop because they have to pay for these themselfs so it's lost profit!

They'll get the message after a very short while.
    Regards,
    Dave

If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button :D
