Hi All, I thought I'd update you.
Yesterday I went out with the inlaws. We went to fly kites with the children, then we went for a walk.
Everybody was hungry, but no-one dared say anything. I was constantly on edge, waiting for the 'lets go to the restaurant' to be said. We did go to the put, then it got to talking about food....
Everyone came back to mine, we had takeaway pizza and wine, and WE didn't pay a penny! (They did drink some of our wine and beer, but did provide most of what was drunk)
MIL asked how I was managing, and I told that I'm not

It sounds like it, it's Pipex.
I've been with them about 3 years and I just called and said I'm going elsewhere unless they'll look at the cost.
I think I quoted madasafish, but it would be good to quote talktalk
They said they'll limit be to so much download, but I never go over that figure anyway (and I use the net alot!)
Also, if it is Pipex, do you realise that you are earning reward points? I didn't know, and have accumilated a nice amount!
Good luck, let me know how you get on.
Regards

GW,
very well done on the in laws bit! People are much harder to deal with than money!!
Sounds like you are getting there. Be happy!

Today we woke to find that someone had smashed the car window over night, and of course it's been raining all night too.
We're obv not happy, but the windsceen co came out within a few hours, put a temp repair in. So that was good
This is where I am glad I put money aside into the car account, so it's not so hard hitting.

Hey GW,
I just wanted to say (although I bear no advice whatsoever), that I've been reading all your posts with great interest and you're a bit of an inspiration for me.Especially dealing with some of the negatives but you really sound like you're making fantastic leaps and bounds. I only wish I were as DFW/OS as youWealth is not measured by currency0 -

Thank you.
I even went to Lidl today and got some bits. I picked up a grater / slicer device thingy, because well it'll make my life easier wont it... and then I thought actually I am very good at slicing things neatly, and there's nowt wrong with my bargain ikea grater that i love, so it went back
I must admit a few years ago I got fed up with all the 'things' in the house, so I made everyone (inc Children) think about things before they brought them. Christmas is harder now because the children don't WANT much and they done't really NEED much, so I feel guilty. But then as we are not a religious family, I make it that their birthdays are their special times. This year I am taking my sons into london to see a show and go for dinner in China town
It takes a moment for the penny to drop, but when it does, shopping becomes really boring and a waste of time. I now (well I thought I did, until I came here) consume a lot less.
Next time you go shopping on a whim, think about it, do you need that handbag, lipstick etc, Will it make your day brighter? Chances are No!
Oooh I sound like I've been here for years don't I LOL
Best of luck hun
