Queenbee I haven't got very far really, although I have been doing some research and am slowly coming up with a proper plan.

I haven't been on for a while due to various work commitments. I went away towards the end of last month to Australia with work and got back on the 10th. I have been quite busy since I got back too hence the lack of progression on the assignment front.

I went into Nationwide to see about the letter I got and in my rush before going away I had got it all very wrong. It wasn't a remortgaging letter it was an end of year summary :o I also checked where my OPs are going and they are definately coming off the term, it just doesn't show on my end of year statement as I could still claim them back in underpayments.

I have OPd £279.52 so far this year, not a round number but I pay £400 in total a month so at least I have one round number in that lot.

Most of my colleagues spent an awful lot while we were in Oz, I managed to get away with only spending $800, $200 of which went on climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge but I also got $210 in cash for being out there so that kind of paid for itself. It works out at around £350 so for 2 weeks with souvenirs and dining out I think I did rather well.

I haven't been able to keep up with the diaries I normally follow either so I have quite a bit of catching up to do.

Right, I have been missing quite a bit recently as I have been so busy with work. I need to update about OPs etc but have no idea where I am up to so must check.

I am concentrating on my final dissertation now as my deadline is 10 weeks away and I have written a grand total of 175 words! I am not panicking too much yet but I am not far off. Everything has been ok'd by my tutor so I am up to my eyes in books, websites and publications. Today is mainly an emailing day to companies and organisations that I think can help me.

If anyone is reading this then feel free to kick me up the bum regularly as it might keep me going.

Right I think these are the current figures.

    Total payments £1,200
    Total interest charged £231.41
    Daily interest £3.42/3
    Current balance £46,622.09

£419.28 of the payments are OPs so I think things are going ok at the mo.

Well done on the OPs and good luck with the dissertation...

I have writers' block on one of my assignments at the moment, and that's just a little 'un, but am trying to improve my study habits by sitting down at The Desk little and often!!!

Emailed my tutor this morning with a decent plan so at least I know I am on the right lines now as he has ok'd everything I am doing. Maybe I will post that on here to get any ideas??

OH is getting on quite well but looking forward to hopefully moving schools. He had to submit his application to our council last week and interviews are in a few weeks time but he hopefully already has an opening. One of his placement schools from last year really want him to go there and so does he. The head is going to interview him sometime soon so we are hoping he can quietly slip into that school. They have a great music department, he went on a residential weekend last month because they wanted him there and he is still invited to their nights out too!

His HOD has been requested to take early retirement at Easter although he will be around in an advisory capacity until the end of the year. The atmosphere is better at the school but there is no structure and is not the sort of place OH wants to be. The only problem with this possible job is it is likely to be a temporary contract as this is the only way they think they can guarantee getting him, it should eventually become permanent but it means we need to put our plans for moving on hold for a while longer. I guess we can just keep OPing and get a bigger deposit for our next house.

Oh and Twinklie, I am not motivated but I don't have much choice, I need to reach 12,000-15,000 words in 10 weeks and I am away with work for nearly 4 of those!

I finished my studying at 1,650 words yesterday. I am hoping to do 500 words a day although once I start hopefully it will be more.

Had a productive MSE morning. Just got off the phone to the gas and electricity company as after our winter fuel bill arrived we were in credit by £138 ish needless to say they are now forwarding the money to us, annoyingly it is going to take up to 2 weeks to be credited to us. They are also reducing our monthly gas payment by £24, not bad work for sitting on the sofa.

I haven't got any further with my word count yet but have done loads of research.

Thought I would update my mortgage figures seeing as it is the end of the month and I am in the middle of updating all my files.

    Total payments £1,200
    Total interest charged £310.12
    Daily interest £3.42/3
    Current balance £46,700.80

So far this year I have paid £889.88 off my mortgage, not great but I have knocked a penny off my daily interest every month since the beginning of the year so that is a good thing. I think it will be a good year until we think about moving so I should be able to do something with that total in the meantime.
