I'm assuming the evil interest is what's made these figures as they are.

Maybe you should have a go at workign out how much interest you'll be saving over the years just from your OP's? Might make you feel better.

I am trying to decide what to do. My mortgage total is £47,594.16, do I pay the £94.16 so I start the new year under £47,500? My mortgage payment and OP will both go out tomorrow or whenever the banks catch up anyway. I have a few hours left to decide but it may be fun (I never would have said that before finding this board)

  • Ooh, a touch of the Hogmanay round number OCD?!? Being a fellow Scot, I'd go for it, sounds so much better for a starting point for 2010.

All the best, whatever you decide.

I didn't make the OP in the end, I couldn't be bothered to come back on the computer. Fresh start today and what do Nationwide do?...They've already added £3.49 in interest, I would mind much if it wasn't for the fact that I had got it down to £3.48!

I got a letter through this morning about remortgaging and if I go onto the standard variable my payments stay the same. I think I am going to chance it for a while seeing as I would have to pay so much more on a tracker or fixed rate, going to pop in to see them anyway. The last 2 base rate changes didn't affect me (mortgage is with Nationwide) so if they go up I can reconsider then.

Need to go and see them on Monday anyway and get them to change where my OPs go I want them to come of the term and they are not at the mo :o

  • Hi AJ, i have a BTL mortgage with UCB homeloans which is part of nationwide and got a letter yesterday to say that they are increasing there SVR from 4.99 to 5.29. Dont know if all nationwide mortgages will follow suit, but just in case you may want to look into what deals they can offer, Well done on the overpayments :D
