We move in 4 days time. Slowly getting there with the packing but I have run out of boxes so am currently trying to source some more before calling the removal company and having to buy them.
Planning on missing a couple of OPs while we sort out where our money is going. We are going to have 2 mortgages on the property and although I know which we will be OPing first I need to do some figures on that, a new budget and try and persuade DH to do a SOA with me. Looking forward to being in our spacious house.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

Almost there with the packing now which is good as everything seems a bit tidier. I need to keep pushing through with the final bits that can be done as tomorrow I am going to thoroughly clean the kitchen and bathroom so it will just be a wipe around on Friday morning. Although I am really reluctant to leave here I want to get in the new house as early as possible as I am at work later on that day. It is very excitingMFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

Our solicitor has received the mortgage funds which will be released into the banking system first thing in the morning. I wonder how long it will take for them to be received so we can get the keys.
A few things left to pack, the removals arrive at 9 and my mum just after 10. Not sure what time we will be getting up yet (I feel like a kid at Christmas at the mo) but I want everything packed in boxes/in our cars by the time they arrive so we can just follow behind cleaning. We probably won't be that organised but I can hope.
How do I create links to another thread as I am going to need to set up a new diary now?MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

We are in the new house and seem to be getting it sorted quite quickly. I've just looked at my internet banking and I am already horrified by the amount I am paying a day in interest. I need to sort out payments for at least a month and then look at OPing, I have never been sure how easy it would be to get DH on board, but if I show him the calculations I don't think it should be too difficult. We will be paying the larger mortgage first, tomorrow I am going to play about on a mortgage calculator as I know that the smaller one can be paid off on 5 years. The larger mortgage has no limit on OPs whereas we can only pay £500 a month on the smaller one until March 2013.
I need to work out how to put a link in.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

I'm sooooo jealous about your move. Well done on the quickness and smoothness of it all though. xReduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I've also been trying to work out the finances for our new house, although the next month may be a wierd one while we finish paying things in the old house too. I have also read a scary bit on our mortgage payments so am going in to ask about it tomorrow as I think we may have to pay more in the first month  I am not sure how it has worked out but I appear to have the same amount going out as I did before and we have a larger mortgage, can't remember what my monthly outgoings were before putting money aside for the wedding though, at least it shouldn't be too tough on our pockets. DH has just had a pay rise and I get one next month so that should help a lot.
Just tried to start a new thread but my internet connection is really slow and gave up part way through so it will have to wait for now. I have worked out OPs on the larger mortgage we have as I know we could easily pay off the lower one, and the figures are just as a starting place with no extra OPs as we get payrises etc. I would like to pay the house off in 11 years as a starting point as that is when my contract ends, any sooner would be a bonus. If we OP £450 a month on the larger mortgage and there are no interest rises (that would be nice) then the mortgage would be paid on if in 10.9 years :j when I show DH that I don't think he will need much persuading but I am going to get my case together as this will be a lot easier if he is on board with it.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200

I have a new thread here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/46316915#Comment_46316915
I discussed OPing with DH last night, he is willing to do it however we are probably going to wait until after Christmas first as there are a few things we need to get sorted first. That is fine...but if we even have a spare £50 at the end of the month then that will be going towards the mortgage.MFW 2025 No. 7 £700/£1200
