Poll: "Fashion" Thread - Daily or Weekly Please Vote

A Weekly ThreadI've voted for a weekly thread for purely selfish reasons.
I've been mad busy since the beginning of the school holidays, working 14 hour shifts and I've been poorly too. I've not had the time to catch up with daily threads. When I have come on to catch up with what people are wearing and doing it seems like too much faff to read through all of the snide comments.
We've all got differing opinions and there's nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is the fact that people who don't want the threads here post inflammatory comments. This in turn starts other people wandering from the threads in order to retort to a post.
The happy friendly feeling of the original posts has kind of gone awol and I would hope that if we start a weekly thread then we will keep to topic (on the whole
) and not degenerate into a bun fight. Crikey - I did light the blue touchpaper - sincerely, without meaning to.
I KNEW that this thread wasn't a good place to ask the question - hence the mild, humorous sarcasm. Nevertheless, what has happened each time that I have tried to leave well alone is that someone has made some reference to me; the one by Bronnie about posts being removed was a veiled reference for sure but could hardly have been meaning anyone else as I am the (main?) party who has taken issue - and if not the only one, certainly the most vocal. Although it does take two (and more) blah blah...
I now see that trying to "walk away" can't work; new people come out of the woodwork just to pounce on "me" and join in the vitriol. With the almost lone voices of suki and ab (thank you) offering a different persepective in my (deliberate) absence. I think I am on Bronnie's ignore list (which I have just remembered *slaps forehead*) so she wouldn't see the question herself or would maybe have ignored it anyway. Note; I am STILL interested to know if it is my posts that have been removed (and which ones); not sure if PMs actually go through to an "ignoree".
So here I am again, causing problems. And still not voted.
This does not mean that some of the sheer nastiness (nothing ambiguous about it that's for sure) has gone unnoticed - here is not the place for me to remark on it; I really apprecaite though that ab and suki have.
Cheers all.0 -

Plus I don't understand why you wont vote as this was created to appease silly people like yourself- or are you worried this will take away your moaning space? Good luck getting back that life you lost love!
My opinion as a brand new newbie who love the fashion threads!:D There you go now you have something to moan, belittle for the next- ooh half an hour?
Who ARE you..............?
The poll may have been created to "appease" me/people like me; great, thanks a million. Does not mean that I agree with it, the rationale behind it, daily or weekly for that matter; I still maintain ONE LONG THREAD - as other popular threads are mananged. I see already that there is now a Gok thread !!!!!! (personally, I cannot abide the "man" and simply fail to see why people don't have minds of their own).
Comments like yours just bring the rattlesnake out of the corner.
Sorry, couldn't help myself (an accusation already levelled at me).
For the record, I don't do snide - see the bikini wax thread.

Ah you can't call it that anymore. Its a place for "time out"
GTC there are loads of things I could discuss with you from your post. But you know what it isn't going to get you or I anywhere. You don't see where those that like clothes/Gok/Trinny et al are coming from and vice versa.
However what this poll is trying to do is offer some sort of compromise. I hope the comment about trying to appease you (actually it wasn't done for you but the collective on HB&F) etc isn't intended as it reads as it sounds like a bit of a slap in the face for trying to reach an agreement. Keep stamping our feet around in temper isn't making life pleasant for everyone and quite frankly if it continues I can see MSE towers removing the board as it will be more trouble than it's worth.
I didn't include one long thread as personally I loathe them. I especially don't think it would work for something that is changed daily (like clothes), some of the weightloss ones run as a conversation and I think it copes with it better that way. Sorry if you don't like/agree the rationale behind it. I feel in many ways your refusal to meet halfway makes you the same as Bronnie, whom I am equally disappointed in over her stance aka refusal to budge

A Daily ThreadAm I right in thinking everyone can see what everyone else voted for? All you have to do is click 'view results'. Worked for me.
I know my vote says 'daily' but I pressed the wrong thing and think a weekly thread is better, mainly as it allows us to have a better look at what's working in terms of being a bargain etc. Does that make sense?
Although I should say that's only if you really had to push me to choose, but I wouldn't like a really long thread as I think it gets too complicated. I'm relatively new to the fashion thing and also have a habit of wanting to read a whole thread before I post in it, and think that for new people a weekly thread (or a daily one for that matter) would be much less intimidating.
ETA: I still think 'Fashion' should be moved though (possibly to the shopping section, maybe as a sub forum of Shop But Don't Drop?), because I don't think it sits with 'Health'."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

I take your point(s). I was actually quoting someone else who popped up and said that the poll was set up to appease me (+), I did not for one second believe that I would/should have that kind of influence.
It is not a refusal to meet halfway - but I am spending so much time and energy deflecting the veiled and outright accusations that I am losing the will to live, let alone find it in myself to (as is usually my nature) compromise. Each remark I make can incite several responses - I may be a !!!!!cat in real life but I will not take nastiness (however deserved it may be) aimed at me lying down. Equally, I am not particularly afraid to say what I think so I deserve everything I get; sometimes though, the whole point gets lost.
I can't imagine my vote (and you know what, I can't actually decide...) will make much difference. I take on board what you're saying about one long thread but also stand by my own (and others') reasoning why it may have been better and more typical of the entire forum's style. If you care to recollect, I initially requested a sub-forum for fashion threads to inhabit - that it has escalated to this is only partly my fault.

Yours could be the difference between a daily thread (which I know you loathe) and a weekly one (which you don't endorse but has got to be better than a daily one
) so please vote. Really what have you got to lose.
And believe me if I could provide a sub forum I'd have it here like a flash

Thanks for the response. I really wasn't aware of anything between you and Bronnie so your post came as bit of a surprise, that's all.

Sure, no problem (I am typing this without looking back to read again what you said...). I (too?) can be guilty of speaking first without knowing everything and then maybe, if I'm lucky, I might see the fuller picture.0
