Well Bitsy, kudos to you for doing the poll.

Trouble is theres no indication of when its going to end. So will it end when the daily threads are in the lead or the weekly?

Perhaps the poll should end on midnight sunday? This gives everyone that wants to plenty of time to vote and it will be ready for a new week, should a weekly thread be decided on.

I haven't voted as I really have no preference between the 2. I am however against the idea of 1 long thread as they aren't as easy to read and they can be intimidating for new people, in my opinion.

I hope at the end of this poll the whole issue will be put to rest!

SORRY I didn't put an end date. I think Feline's suggestion of midnight Sunday is a good one. It honestly wasn't with a view to picking the day when the daily thread was ahead ;)

I've just spent half an hour reading this with a bemused look on my face - some people really do have nowt to worry about. Because I'm vacuous and vain and like fashion I'll add my 2p...

I was pleased when MSE added fashion to the boards - I like to look good and my clothes are 99% of that. The what are you wearing threads are fun - I've never contributed to one but I read them often. I get inspiration from them. Often thinking "oh I have one of those, I'll wear that today too," Which in turn keeps me away from the clothes shops. A tenuous link but moneysaving for me.

The threads that run forever are dull - fashion is a fast and dare I mention it "fickle" thing. The long thread style doesn't suit fashion, clothes and styles are here today, gone tomorrow - just like the threads should be.

    I voted for daily.

I don't contribute to the thread but fashion is officially part of this sub forum so it is a legitimate topic here. If certain posters don't like it they need to address their concerns to the "management" rather than seek to cause disruption here.

For what its worth I voted weekly, firstly I think the number of responses doesnt really justify a new thread every day but mainly if I am browsing the thread looking to pick up tips I would rather go through a longer one than several shorter ones - and I dont really care what people are wearing today I want some general ideas and inspiration on looking good. I dont think fashions change that quickly that it becomes irrelevant overnight. If it does then I'm going for "classic" dressing and be done with it!

It seems a shame to have to create a big issue out of something quite minor in the grand scheme of things. Reading some of the posts above though I dont think you will get to a happy consensus however your poll ends up. Whatever you decide to do though I suggest you just get on with it as more hassle for the forum team (the ones that get paid to work not the BGs) isnt great and they really dont have time to deal with it.

There is nothing the fashion thread posters would like more than to quietly get on with it!!

The problem has been the disruption of the fashion threads (along the lines of the current bikini wax thread), with unkind, unfair and unpleasant comments, many of which were deleted by MSE, upsetting and deterring posters.

But why not quietly report the posts for abuse to the team without the big drama?

I have had a lot of the more to my mind unsavoury comments made by a poster deleted because I found them offensive. I didn't jump up and down and cry and whinge that threads were being disrupted, just got them deleted and moved on

I do think thats that adult way of going about things. The team is there to listen and to act on posts that are complained about. Obviously they dont delete every post thats reported, they do have to use their own judgement but believe me if its offensive for a family forum and the team are alerted, the posts will go
