Samsung NC10 WARNING!!!

There was an element to this that the consumer always wants a product for less cash. The battery differences are just one way of the retailers doing this for you.
If the item is clearly marker as 4hours rather than 7hours and you've done research and they all said 7hours in the reviews, obviously you question why. If you don't then more fool you.
If something looks to good to be true then it isn't. (unless your an MSE addict and find all the quirks and glithces
)
You are of course 100% correct !
What we are all trying to do is redress the balance away from the retailers taking advantage of us, the consumer, and trying to get the best deals we can. That is what MSE is all about !
What is frustrating is that these differences cost the manufacturers pennies, yet they charge us £'s more. :mad:0 -
ebuyer are now selling the Samsung NC130 for £209 (£229 with £20 cashback) with a 6 cell battery and XP

As was pointed out to me elsewhere on this Forum, the N130 does not have stereo speakers or bluetooth, and the webcam is 0.3M, not 1.3M
So long as you appreciate the difference, it is a good deal in my mind - I paid £270 for my fuller spec NC10 in the summer.0 -
...so I've written off to Argos and complained like hell.
It is rather disappointing to see the large number of really unhelpful 20/20 hindsight vision experts in this thread. I consider myself pretty sharp on the details usually but I dropped straight in on this one!
I never dreamt that the very widely quoted 9 hr life (that was a big point for me) would be something that a big store like Argos would need to tinker with. It was a sleazy thing to do, something a disreputable dealer would do to chisel a customer. Pointing to the small print afterwards and crowing "Buyer beware" is not what is expected of a person or business that had integrity.
The details are the small print, no caveats on the order page - all rather Arthur Daley really. I didn't spot the differences, but then I hadn't looked for them. Having decided on getting a NC-10, I simply searched for it online, found literally the last one stocked by Argos in Norfolk was just down the road. The 3 Argos stores in Norwich were nil stock as was Thetford. Reserve and collect, leisurely stroll down the road - I was robbed!
Where do you buy hindsight?.... :rotfl:

But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

I used to get it from a local Clairvoyant, but they suddenly closed due to unforeseen circumstances ...

I'll steal that line with pride - thank you!“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”
