Hairdressing costs

At the moment I use an independent salon which is 10 mins walk away from home. I pay £15 for a "wet cut", which consists of having it washed, conditioned and then a blast off with the hairdresser. They charge an extra £3 I think for a blow dry, but I refuse to pay it.
They charge £7.50 for a child's cut.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020 -

Update - had a restlye, with half-head highlights and lowlights at this salon today, and they are FAB! For Central London, it's a very reasonable price, they have a student discount, and most importantly of all, they know how to cut hair. Thanks again BargainRzl.:beer:

The cut (it was a restyle) was £35, the half head highlights and lowlights (3 shades) was £50, so £85 in total, 10% discount with an NUS card.
PM me and I'll pass on the salon details.
xx

I really have noticed an increased cost of hair dressers over the last few years but at the moment its the college every few months or nothing.
I have had mixed results from the college I have to admit, I have had an excellent cut from there possibly the best cut I have ever had, and a really really rubbish one from a really petulant teenager who plainly didn't want to be there so its a bit hit and miss!2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -
jojo2004 ! that sounds awesome !!! i never had 3 shades before.. i have naturally black hair and now and then when i go to Spain i get caramel highlights... ( 25 euros there) i really need a change and want to take the chance that i will be in London next week to do something to my hair... where i live... i was told that they did not know how to do it in dark hair, it would not work
. ( few salons here not colleges ehh).. pants... i live in Wales... Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
OMG, I forgot how expensive it was to get your hair cut in London.
Last I was there I needed a trim and was being quoted as much as 30 quid, so I popped into a barbers and got charged 2 quid and was in and out in five mins
Here in the far North of NI - today I paid 14 quid for a restyle, and blowdry.
Colour was 4 quid from Nice and easy and even the hair dresser said it was looking good

I go to the school not the totally new junoirs for cut and blow dry £15.30. I think its a cheek too as I have short hair and does not need blow dried but they don't do just a wash and cut. Half way through the cut my hair has dried anyway and they have to wet my hair.
Oh and as I have a crop cut I should get free, they are unused to doing short hair it seems and I end up having to wait for the trainer to come over and show them how to do each section.
 Oh and I leave a £2 tip.

Hairdresser is daylight robbery here. I have afro hair that I can't trust to just anybody and have extensions so the costs do add up but my deep condition, steam, colour, wash, cut and blow is about £150. They do have offers on all the time and I normally get a weekly wash and blow (not mse but it takes me about 2.5 hours to do it myself they have me in an out in an hour and it looks good). That costs about £20.There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0
