Debt Free Ramblings from BlueJeans

Hi Allaction-smiley-065.gif

Well, I thought today should be the day I start my debt-free dairy after being inspired by others:beer:.

I have had many LBM’s in the last few years but it would appear I had a faulty switch as the light kept flicking off!:confused:speechless-smiley-016.gif.

My OH and I finally realised that we needed to call the electrician and get our faulty lights fixedspeechless-smiley-021.gif ! So as off 01/08/2009 we had our LBM’s again. Now, the lights haven’t flicked off as yet and I hope they don’t as we are trying to hit our debts full-on and clear them as soon as possible.

As of 1/08/2009 we were up to date with all payments but we knew this month it was near impossible to met the min. payment hence why I am writing this dairy.

We are up to date with all our priority debts and have never had a default.

The unsecured amount currently outstanding is £35607.53 (give or take a few pence).

When our debt free date will be - who knows? The calculator I used to work this out blew up and refused to speak to me (so sorry if you tried to use it after me).speechless-smiley-039.gif

I am self managing our DMP and have sent letters to all unsecured creditors and have yet heard diddly squat back from them (now there’s a surprise), so I have no idea wether or not they will accept this but I have set up standing orders in the meantime and paid the majority of them the pro-rata figure another useful calculator, erm, calculated (this one was quite friendly)!

I am also reclaiming PPI (and have been successful with a secure lender that we still have a balance outstanding with) and got a refund for approx. £5000 on Saturday - yay:T.

We are going to use this amount to continue to pay of our secured loan each month and we pay an extra £50 so we will see some benefit of the refund. The remainder of the money will be used to clear the unsecured amounts and hopefully be able to offer some F&F’s for the smaller creditors.

I have currently sent off request for CCA to see if creditors hold the correct agreement - hopefully not but knowing my luck they will have.

Well, I can’t think of anything else at the minute but I will do my best to update on a daily basis as I know I need to stay focused to ride this storm.

Oh, I have started my spending dairy properly today (thanks gargrave for the kick that I desperately needed).cheeky-smiley-034.gif

Spends so far today: £3.00 window cleaner (this should have been £6.00 but I told him not to do the back as nobody can see them as we look out over fields and I doubt the animal-smiley-034.gif's give a animal-smiley-063.gif's about the state of my windows).

If you’ve got this far well done and thank you for reading:beer:. If you haven’t I’ll not bother saying thank you as you won’t be reading this anyhow:p.

I hope to be back soon with more ramblings from a debt free wannabe.

Thanks again for reading and I will see you soon.

Blue jeans - best of luck paying down the debts (and congratulations on the virtuoso use of smileys!)

Would posting a SOA be of any use to you, as it would allow us to make suggestions?
  • Hi edinburgher

Thanks for reading. I thought I would add the smilies to make is slighty more bearable on the eye, otherwise it would be one big blob of text and probably make most readers fall asleep:D.

I did post a SOA a few weeks ago and to be honest there is nothing that can be reduced or anything that can be 'shaved' slighty.

I also done the debt remedy thingy on CCCS and adjusted that slighty when I sent my SOA to our creditors so now my mission now is to actually live by those figures and not splash out on lifes little luxuries - cos lets face it that's what got us here in the first place:eek:.

I just hope it's plain sailing from here on without any major storms ahead.
  • Just a add a few more spends for today *checks watch and vows to stay in for the rest of the day*

I know you broke the calculator:p, but should we aim for a debt free date of 2015 for you:confused:. Very achievable me thinks!
