    Hi EagerLearner

I received a phone call this morning from my current boss at my main work to tell me that i didn't get an interview for the job i had applied for. She phoned me cause i was on holiday from work today and she didn't want me to hear it from anyone else when i went into work on Monday. She said she was really glad that i had applied as it showed i wanted to progress within the department but she had received more applications that she thought she would and that everyone else who applied was already a higher grade than me and had more experience. To be honest i'd only applied for that job as i wanted the interview experience. She did tell me that there were more jobs coming up that she hoped she would see me applying for them and that she knows me and how hard i work and that the team leaders always have glowing reports of my work so i've to apply for them when they come up which should be in the next few weeks... and this is the one i want but have been passed over for 3 times now!!!! So will just need to put the form in and wait and see what happens!!! I've not heard anything about the other 2 jobs outwith the department so keep your fingers crossed for me ;)

Re the car i need a car to get me to work. Theres no way that i'd be able to do both jobs if i didn't have the car it just wouldnt be possible to get to and from work to start in time it would involve 2 train journeys taking about an hour or a 50 min bus journey (it only takes 30 - 40 mins in the car) and the cost of the bus and trains would be equal to my petrol. I have started to save towards my car repairs (well im going to start again in 2 weeks) so that im not hit with any big bills this year  well im hoping that will be the case.

If you could PM me the click sites that you use and how you remember to click on all the sites. The only two that i spend any time on are Quidco (only prob is my computer doesn't track the highstreet one so i have to do that at work!) and pigsback just need another 400 points for my 1st voucher this year. I really need to keep my vouchers to put towards christmas / birthdays this year as i have no savings for this yet.

Things are a bit better today i got paid from my 2nd job and also got some quidco money through which meant that i didn't have to borrow any more money off my mum. I only needed £30 which my sister lent me but i will need to pay this back on Friday next week when i get paid from my 2nd job (which will be a very basic 12 hours holiday pay which will be around £40)

I've managed to get enough money together for my direct debits and to make sure i don't get charged for being over my overdraft limit. I just need to worry about my credit card bills now :(

I've got 3 things selling on ebay now grand total of £2.97 :T its better than nothing i suppose! I've sorted out a pile of CDs and some other things to list on ebay but nothing of any great value so im not expecting miracles!

I've made soup today and i've got brisket cooking in my slow cooker for dinner tonight it smells amazing i cant wait till i can eat it

Will list some things on ebay then have some dinner and list some more

Got some things listed on ebay at the moment 3 selling totaling £7.48 with a day left to go and a few things being watched so heres hoping!

I'm currently registered with the following cashback sites and my balances on them are as follows:

PIGSBACK 835 PIGGY POINTS (using to get vouchers for xmas)
CASHBACK REWARDS £7.03 (need to get another £17.97 before i can withdraw)

So total collected in cash is £17.40 and all this has been done in just 8 days :T just by clicking on daily clicks so its not cost me anything so far!!!

Just need to continue clicking on the links so that i can get this free money asap!!

If anyone wants to join any of these sites please pm me if you want me to refer you. I can get extra money for anyone that i refer once they meet their target. I've already had someone sign up using my referral for free fivers through the referrals board so thanks for that whoever you are :T

I also do the free clicks on Quidco every day.

I did not receive an interview for any of the jobs that i applied for and things aren't too good at work at the moment. They were carrying out job evaluation at our work and the results of that are supposed to be out 2moro however someone told us on friday that our wages are not going to be increased as everyone expected but there is the possibility that they may stay the same or worst case senario is that they will go down! If this happens then they will remain static for 3 years and we will not get a yearly wage rise  will just need to wait and see what happens when the letters are sent out.

Managed to get my Olympic Challenge money up to £24.04 (which is being paid to my Alliance & Leicester account so it reduces my overdraft before the 0% interest runs out.

Also won a competition got a silky steps wintertime water tray (which arrived on Friday) its great - better than expected. Its got a flannel, 2 Handmade Natural Jellybean soaps, 2 Fruity Orange bath bombs and some glitter all in a toilet bag. I also got an email to say i was a runner up in another competition and im going to get some stickers and a badge! So no major big wins yet..... nothing i can sell for a small fortune  but just need to keep trying!

Anyway id better go and get things ready for work in the morning sorry for the long post
Will try and update more often

  • Well done BB - just dropping in quickly to read up on your latest and say hi - put the prize you won on ebay as 'jellybean soap' - it's surely going to generate some interest!

Enjoy the feeling of being back in the right directuion paying things off - just imagine how much worse it would have been if you had not been paying off your debt so carefully - you would be another £400 odd in debt, instead of a few pounds paid off your debt.

I have been trying to tidy up and get some things sorted out today. I've sorted out my credit card statements and bank details into a ring binder tonight and i've just done a new snowball calculation.

It doesn't make good reading and its quite depressing :o

My debt free date according to my new snowball calculation is May 2013 which is over 6 years away

According to the snowball calculation my debts will be paid off as follows:

    SKYCARD - FEBRUARY 2009
    BARCLAYCARD - OCTOBER 2010
    ALLIANCE & LEICESTER OVERDRAFT - MAY 2011
    MBNA - NOVEMBER 2011
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND - NOVEMBER 2012
    MORGAN STANLEY - JANUARY 2013
    TESCO - MARCH 2013
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND OVERDRAFT - MAY 2013

Im doing the £1007 money challenge which im going to use to pay off my Alliance & Leicester overdraft first (its the smallest amount and i want to have at least one debt cleared this year)!!! So am aiming to pay this off by the end of April at the latest so that i can start working on my Skycard.

I've not been doing as many competitions lately and need to get back into them as i received an email saying i'd came runner up and won a Jimmy Carr DVD set. Am looking forward to receiving this so i can get it listed on ebay and start and get some more paid off my debt.

I just feel really bad that its going to take me over 6 years to get debt free. Im going to have to do everything i can to get this reduced.

I've been putting money away for my car (insurance, mot, road tax & servicing) £20 per week and also for my house (insurance, tv licence, gas bill) £10 per week. This is taken from my 2nd job wages and the remaining amount is put in my car for petrol to get me to and from work every day. Which is really not giving me any money to throw at my debts.

I don't really want to stop putting this money away as i found it really hard to pay for my car insurance and MOT when it was due and don't want to be in that situation again. Im just going to have to try and take any extra hours going at my second job, ebay everything thats not nailed down and do any overtime available at my main job.

Sorry for the long post it just helps me to write it all down

    Hi Buddiebabe

Good to see your post. Yes six years is a long slog but who knows what might happen along the way to speed it up - new job, ebay miracle, unexpected windfall...

At least you're going in the right direction, even if not as fast as you'd like. Definitely keep putting money away for car and home expenses.

Well done on the comp wins. We got lucky on that front too, OH won a Borat kit including the green swimsuit (if you've seen the film you'll know what I mean) - it fetched £26 on ebay!

    Hey Seaxwyn

Well done on your comp win. Glad you ebayed that prize and didn't keep it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: although im sure you could of had some fun with it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I know what you mean it just seems like a long hard slog.... with not much to look forward to except paying off debts for the next 6 years.

I've spent the last hour putting things on turbo lister ready for uploading on Tuesday when its half price listing day. I photographed 77 things today and have only managed to put on 30... it just takes so long.

Im off my main job 2moro so will spend a few hours putting some more on.... nothing of any great value but if some things sell at 99p it will be worth it.

Im going to keep putting away the £10 and £20 every week for my house and car expenses if i can afford to. I was using my 2nd job wage to pay towards my minimum payments but am now struggling to meet the minimum payments but will keep putting it away if i can.

Just hoping i get that unexpected windfall soon

    Hiya

Wow 77 things, that will take some time. I have only ever listed 7 things and that took two whole evenings! Maybe I'm just very slow. Here's hoping they all sell for you.

Well i received my Royal bank of scotland bank account statement through today and it turns out that the interest rate i thought i payed for my overdraft was alot lower than it actually is 29.9%

So I've had to redo my snowball calculation which is worse than before and my debt free date is now October 2013:mad:

According to the snowball calculation my debts will be paid off as follows:

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND OVERDRAFT - SEPTEMBER 2009
    SKYCARD - APRIL 2010
    ALLIANCE & LEICESTER OVERDRAFT - MAY 2011
    BARCLAYCARD - AUGUST 2011
    MBNA - AUGUST 2012
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND - JULY 2013
    MORGAN STANLEY - SEPTEMBER 2013
    TESCO - OCTOBER 2013

argh.... im so annoyed that i got it wrong.... just wish i could find some extra money from somewhere to bring these debts down faster.

    Hi

I've got an interview for a promotion in my work.... it's the job i've been waiting for for ages but im so scared im going to mess it up.

I've been for this same job three times before now and haven't got the job and have never got any bad feedback from any of my interviews....just no idea what i need to do to get the job.

My interview is at 2.50 on Thursday ..... wish it had been first thing in the morning so i wouldn't have to wait all day getting more and more nervous :o

Anyone got any ideas how to keep calm before my interview????

I think they will ask the same questions as before about how to motivate staff, what to do if anyone had a problem with their work and wasn't pulling their weight and how would i deal with an agressive or emotional customer.

    Any tips would be appreciated
Im off to bed now to try and get some sleep, however, i know im going to be worrying about it until 2.50 on thursday :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Congratulations on the interview and good luck!

I'd recommend rescue remedy for nerves, but I am a terrible interviewer - turn to a gibbering idiot. Quite surprised I have got jobs actually as have an awful tendancy to lie! :)
