went really well with florist :)- 5 button holes, pedestals for cermoney room/outside, top table arrangements, 7 table centres (square vases with flowers), petals for tables, 2 gift bouquets, my bouquet, 3 bms bouquets--- all for £230 :) very happy
going to see her again start of july when we will arrange when she is taking pedestals, tablecentres and top table arrangement to the venue and when/where she taking the button holes and bouquets :)

Thats an excellent quote! Mines £480 for the same without thank bouquets!

ohh fab glad its a good quote :) it was a recommdation from my boss- as she used her for her daughters wedding last year.
i think it helps that she is a wholesalers rather than a florist shop :)

That makes me feel a bit better. We have budgetted £500 although it may come under that. That is for my bouquet, 1 BM real flowers 1 BM artificial posy, ceremony table flowers, 5 x buttonholes, a single flower with napkin etc as an extra favour for each guest at the meal and flowers on our cake. She is also doing the flowers for each of the tables but that is through the package we have with our hotel.

Just had a count up and it may be a lot less than we thought. £287.75 not including the cake flowers which start at 18.50. Will keep the budget at £500 in case we need to contribute more to the flowers at the venue. That doesn't include any floral gifts either so at least we should come in well under the budget price.

I am glad you are glad with your quote, but am wondering if anyone else is doing their own flowers? I am planning to do all my boquets myself. I watched a youtube video and it seemed pretty straightforward, so I ordered floral tape and "diamond" floral pins off ebay and am planning to buy some ribbon from the local market, then buy the flowers the day before so they are fresh.

My friend did her own flowers last year and they looked lovely. I wouldn't know where to start plus both of us have quite time-consuming jobs, I am only finishing 36 hours before the wedding so wouldn't want to do it.

  • 61 days to go until we mark our quarter century,

It's been a flowers day everywhere I see :D - talked to my ladies about them too. I'm in the lucky situation of having ladies at our church who will do them, with my help and a couple of friends. Hoping it will be a lovely break the day before to spend the time chatting and sorting out the flowers.

Pondering on buttonholes for my boys and a wrist corsage for me - as not a wedding it might be a bit OTT?

Finally got some things off the rather long to do list this week
    Son - suit & shirt
    Me - shoes (finally!!)
Replies - trickling in, but it will be a full church :j
And some lovely offers of help with our tea afterwards - from loans of things like big jugs to help baking to just plain old help. I have wonderful friends :D

Off to update a list or three,

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

I always feel like i should be more interested in the flowers,
we arent having any in the church that arent already there... (my church is always full of blooms though so i dont need extra)
my bouquet is very simple hand tied thingy that my friend is doing for me from closed white peonies, 2 sections of flowers tied seperatly then tied together, as im going to throw half in the traditional manner and put half on my best friends grave the next morning.

apart from button holes... i think thats it,
so my flowers will be very cheap!
