Our wedding rings came in today, we are putting off picking them up though so we can sort out the money.
We booked our honeymoon today too...it is a little bit expensive but exactly the sort of thing we wanted. We are going to Singapore for 3 nights, Koh Samui for 10 mights and Bangkok for 3 nights! Our hotel room in Koh Samui has its own pool! It is expensive but we can save a bit of money through OHs work benefits.
Also found out my dad's contribution yesterday which was a shock and means we are not worrying about money for the wedding day and has made the honeymoon possible :D

Been to a local wedding fayre- got a bit more inspiration from stationers, cake makers, florists etc, tried some cake (even though mum is making it!), found out the sizes they needed to be, didn't see any dresses I liked more than mine (phew!), mooched around, found 3 possible waistcoats for 'the boys'.

26 weeks as yesterday for us, although it's hard to get any enthusiasm this weekend as my Fiance (and all at his company) was plunged into a 30 day consultation period for redundancy on Friday. Depressing times and he's now typing away to create a stonking CV, in the hope he won't be out of work for long, if at all.

We've sat an giggled about songs for church, dicussed yet more invite design ideas and I've entered the usual wedding fayre prize draws and am keeping my fingers crossed I win a weeks holiday or even an hour of a string quartet!

Hey ho, what will be will be...

    Hi fellow July brides!

Ive nearly decided on my wedding invite design but still struggling with gift wording. We're paying for the whole wedding ourselves and have nothing left for the honeymoon. We really want to book it a month before the big day and jet off 2 days after, does this sound ok? We've tried to keep it as simple as poss.

If you were thinking of giving us a gift
to help us on our way,
A gift of cash towards our honeymoon
    would really make our day.

We would really like to book the honeymoon before June and would appreciate any contribution ahead of this date.

    :D
  • Hi,

Sorry, just hijacking your thread temporarily, I hope you don't mind... :o

Rose, I have a poem that my cousin used when she asked for honeymoon contributions as her and her husband's gift list:

It seems that we have to concede
We have all of the homeware we need
    But a sojourn abroad
    We can scarcely afford
And your help would be welcome indeed!

Feel free to use if you would like :)
Or ignore if you don't like! ;)
