    Thanks sammy_wheeler

We are having 2 lots of favours, 1 is doubling as a name place holder and haven't quite decided on the other yet.

We have seen a company to do the chair covers although haven't booked yet.

Shoes, jewellery no idea yet but have an idea of what I would like jewellery wise.

Underwear...going dress shopping with my sister on Friday so am going to ask their advice as I have no idea.

Gifts are on my list but don't know what we are doing.

OH has decided on 2 options for his clothes and one of those will definately be used for best man and probably my dad.

Not going to use a videographer.

We have a theme in mind and just happens it coincides with the colour I like for the chairs.

It look like we have considered most things, we will have to book things soon. We were at a wedding fayre on Sunday which is when we got our ideas and the same people are at one on the 23rd, the plan is to have the ideas in place and if we haven't already booked then to do it that day.

Hello AJmoney. If it helps, I'm not all that organised at all. Have booked the venue for the ceremony, and we're registering intent to marry a week on monday. And I've just changed venues for the evening reception, so nothing much sorted there!

Thats about all I've done! I have looked lots and lots online :D So I have lots of ideas and plans of what kind of things I want for table centrepieces etc. And I have a quote from a DJ, which was within budget, but then I didn't do anything more about it.

We've been to see about suits, but not actually booked them. And I've found my dress I think, but trying to lose some weight before ordering it.

So, in summary, theres nothing to be worried about at all. Theres still 6 months to go. It'll all be fine ;)

Just bought myself a beautiful garter from Not On The High Street, I've looked around the usual places, Debenhams etc on the highstreet but coundn't find anything special enough and as I'm a sucker for vintage, and hey, you only get married once I've just purchased the Snowfall garter! If anyone's interested check out the seller here http://www.aaliciawedding.bigcartel.com/ there's more choice than on NOTHS on her site.

Oh, just saw some of you asking about my dress, I am too nervous to post a piccie as my MIL, SIL and a close friend are all dying to know and they come on here A LOT! Found a really pretty branch to be our 'wishing tree today' so looking out for a nice low pot for it, should be doing some uni work tonight but I'm shattered and so i've been looking for ring pillows online instead! My Mam has offered to make a pretty pillow so I just want some inspiration if anyone has any recs. This wedding lark is taking over my life, have had some hilarious dreams about the big day too!

Just a straw poll, has everyone registered their intention to marry with the local authority? I was a bit 'ohh we're getting married' when we saw the priest (Catholic) so can't remember if we should be doing this now and don't want to get behind. Think our marriage classes might start soon but I don't want to be late in registering, imagine if they said we were too late to marry (more wedding nightmares)!

I went dress shopping today and found one...it is a bit more than I budgetted for though!

We are going to pay the deposit for the venue on Sunday to secure it and then we should be able to reserve the rooms that we need.

We also have an appointment with a florist next week to get some ideas.

I have been told today that my dad has a wedding fund for me, I have no idea how much but hopefully it should ease the burden for OH and I, especially as I am still feeling sick at how much my dress is going to cost!

hey AJmoney, we're getting married on 9th July too! It seems you and I are at about the same level of preperation so you've put my mind at rest! My dress was also more than I budgeted for, but I fell in love with in and my Mam loved it so much that she wouldn't not see me have it, my parents made a very generous offer which meant it put my mind at rest on the cost!

Amymo That's great that you are getting help too. My dad doesn't really talk about money so I have no idea what he wants to contribute and my mum has no idea about it, maybe sometime he will let us know :rotfl:

I get the impression he is going to ring up and pay the balance for my dress. I am quite happy if he pays for that and the bridesmaid's dresses, the rest comes near to our preferred budget and we can cope with that. I think he may be more interested than he lets on as he has just sent me a text telling me about a wedding fayre that is near us on Sunday! I am scared of going anywhere now in case I see another dress!

  • Hi. I am getting married on 2nd July near Edinburgh. I am not sure about the difference between england and scotland but we need to hand in our notice to marry forms to the local council between 3 months and 15 days before our wedding date (we have already sorted out the church and minister).

I will be having wedding worries until this is done as it is one of the most important things to do. And then I will be petrified that we will forget the notice certificate on the day!
