Just read up to page 7 and then skipped here. What a waste of money.

    For £20k you could get:

BMW 330Ci 1 owner still with warranty

    BMW M3

    Audi S3

    Audi S4

But nah I'm sure a Seat is much better value!

This car is something he has been saving for, for the past 5 years, while he has been at uni he has been saving for something that he has been looking forward to when he finished his course.....

He has been relying on his mothers car for the past 5 years....he has enough money to pay for it....we just want to know the cheapest way to pay for it....
NOT IF WE CAN AFFORD IT OR NOT!!!!!!

Explains the post in one, a boy racer cant afford a focus so is settling for the third best thing.
  • You can get a focus RS for £11k if youre lucky.

Honda integra type R 51-52 etc

As other poster suggested, BMW m3, Audi S3

Personally Id have a Civic Type R for £5500-6000

Also I dont think spending so much money just to get a warrenty is anything good. Basically an older car might have something go wrong with it but a new car loses more value when you drive it away than the likely cost of any failures of a slightly cheaper car.

  • haggle the finance down at the dealership. thats what we did when my oh bought his car. he went on his own first and told them that i made all the decisions so that i could be a total biatch and get them down a bit in price and what not. i basically said we are not paying that much for the car and we are not paying that much of an interest rate. It was a take it or leave it deal as we are able to proceed today or we go elsewhere.

he ended up with an interest rate of around 6% in january 07 which was half the rate they were wanting to charge him first of all. we looked online to see comparitive loan costs so we had an idea of what he could get. also make sure you take out gap insurance for a car of that value as you dont want to be stuck paying out for the finance if it gets written off.

we bought at 18month old avensis for 12K and were paying back £15K in total over the 5 years plus gap insuance which was a one off payment seperate from the finance agreement. its paid off now which is good as we were paying £256 a month.
Debt free 3 years early :j
Savings for house deposit - very healthy

Cash back earnt so far £14.57
