  • No, they all did have. The Capital One has run out and now the Halifax and MBNA. The last one has a £1500 on it and will be paid off in the next 2 months. Have no idea what to do about the other 2 because of the recent 0% rejections.

Have also recently paid off A&L card. The 0% ended on it and then they tried to up the interest rate to something like 28% so I had to go into overdrive to get rid off it within 2 months which I did by living on baked beans for about a month! Can't have been pleasant to live with! :rotfl:

If you list all of your cards:
Card name/balance/credit limit/APR/ any BT offer

It'll speed up getting an answer back to you on closure and juggling options.

Post them in a separate thread to keep this one clear for the Virgin 0% discussion :)

  • Yes, of course. Didn't want it to seem as though I was hijacking this thread with my own SOA. I wondered if I posted what my situation was that it might help establish a pattern in who's being accepted/rejected by MBNA.

I would post in another thread but I don't think there's any other way out apart from getting a second job at the weekend as I'm not willing to apply for another 0% and be rejected nor release any equity. Thanks for your advice though, much appreciated. Off to bed now.

To all those who didn't receive an instant decision, FYI, I received this via email today after applying 3 days ago.

    Dear MrMajika
Thanks for applying for a Virgin Credit Card, we've received all the information we need to open your account.
You will receive your card, PIN and credit card chequebook within the next 7-10 days.
Please do not attempt to reply to this e-mail as the return e-mail box will not be monitored.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.

No mention of the credit limit yet.

I got the same email today, but when I applied online 3 days ago, I was given acceptance and the limit online at the same time.
  • I'll be expecting my "Dear Scum, get lost....we don't want you" type letter via snail mail this week.
I'll probably get a glossy envelope with a letter in it offering me a Virgin credit card as well just to be ironic.

Did get the email saying that my MBNA statement is ready to view though.....made a payment last week so well ahead of that.

I'm semi-gutted, opened a Virgin card last month and transfered £4500 from my wifes cards with a 3% fee :wall:, But on the plus side it is the first credit card I have been accepted for since declaring bankruptcy 7 years ago.

The link on Moneysupermarket says it's "Sold out", but it still seems to be available from the link below, although it could get pulled from that any minute.
