Morning All
Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions for my 'sorting' dilema............need to put it into action now......particularly like the point about putting things in DH's name, it is so frustrating if you ring someone & they will only talk to the named person.
valli I am with you completley on the honesty with children mine are 26 & 19 but still my 'babies' & the natural reaction is to protect them.....but they need to know.....can't hide it from them anyway
Hope all the poorlies are feeling better, love to everyone. xx

Me - I had a similar conversation with TC a while ago......I was full time up until June and then went part time, so obviously my change in hours affected the credits.
When i got the new award, they had only worked out my full time allowance, i.e. April - June and were paying that out for the whole year. They were adament that they were right and I was wrong.....but it said on the forms that was the amount for 76 days.
Eventually they reput the information, still adament that it wouldnt make any difference.....but waddaya know!! It did!
Wait and see what the forms say when they come through. Im pretty sure an extra child makes a difference! It doesnt seem like rocket science to mexx

re your appeal - I had to do this and they are VERY STRICT about reasons for backdating. I had finished a temp contract on 24 Dec but been paid to 31st dec so I claimed from 1 January. Then I got a request to repay a weeks' wages as I had been paid when I shouldn't have. So then I backdated the claim and was initially turned down...then I kicked up a fuss and said if I had riginally claimed from 25 Dec they wouldn't have accepted it as I had received wages to ciover the last week of Dec. Make sure you have copies of letters/ whatever proving you didn't get paid for the month (I assume that's why you are back claiming) and don't let it go - no-one is psychic and you had no knowledge that you weren't going to get paid - I have a feeling that they'll kick up because you were employed. Check with former colleagues too to make sure they are back claiming but PERSIST. They will pay you eventually! HTH

just remembered I had hassle with TV licence as it was in OH's name and apparently it has to be correct in both name and address OR YOU'RE NOT COVERED! I had assumed that, because it was for here I didn't need to swap the name! I am sure AnWsMum will have some pertinent advice both from a professional and personal angle...
I'd do (well I do) have a spreadsheet with what it is (ie Gas, Sky etc) account number, DD info (when and how much) account/ref number and contact number and address. It's not actually that big. Mind you mine's passowrd protected but I do have a filing cabinet. Having said that some of mine are on line so would be hard for someone to sort. Note to self - printout a copy!
Another thing you could do is find out now which companies would need a certified copy of death cert and which will accept a photocopy...because when you register a death that's when you need to order copies. Then OH will know how many to get (if they keep them and don't return them) when he needs them.
You are being so brave and sensible...
Another thing I do is, every so often I photocopy all my cards...bank cards, loyalty, top up, store cards etc. Much easier than writing all the details down AND all the contact info is there. I lay about 8 out then turn over (you have to reposition them so they are 'back to front'. )
Then if my bag is stolen/lost I have the info!
(I did have my bag stolen once)

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Bevan!!!! xx
Valli - thanks for that. I was made redundant on the 24th July, even though I wasnt paid, I know that i was still employed. 24th was a Friday, I applied for Income Support online on the Saturday, but that doesnt exist for Housing and Council Tax Benefits. So i had to wait until the Monday (27th) to go in and fill out the forms.
Their rule is that they pay benefit from the monday AFTER they received the forms.....so im not being paid for the first week - and thats what im asking them to reconsider. Ive explained to them and they were really helpful so i need to put it in writing and see what they say!Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

sunnygirl thanks, what goes on the sofa, two littlies and a DH, plus a visiting bad spaniel, has to go in the wm!
thifty this is prob total nonsense, but am convinced Crabtree & Evelyn sold my house...loads of viewings, all daft reasons for not offering. I thought "s*dit" and blew too much money on a load of crabtree and evelyn house scent - candles, pot-pourri, spray, and BINGO! Admittedly an expensive experiment. I asked the woman in the shop which scent was the freshest...

ladyliberty I'm really sorry you have been feeling terrible, but the ladies have said it all and said it well. Hugs.
jo I wouldn't speak to any of these people on the phone, but get it all in writing...I know its such a drag...
belle being a SAHM is not an easy job, esp with tinies. Welcome. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I think that lot will help to motivate me with the flying once it's all done and looks pretty. I find it very disheartning cleaning something, that quite frankly, looks carp both before and after I've cleaned IYSWIM.
I know what you mean... I had the same problem when I moved in here. If you can't see that you're making a difference, what's the point? Hope you get things sorted soon! In the meantime, concentrate on what does make a difference (like clean bedding!)Still unemployed though - no luck whatsoever. Im being declined for even basic admin jobs, but am still applying for some others, so just need to keep my fingers crossed and wait and see. Im going between being really on the ball, and getting organised and on top of things, to really bad days when I have severe black dog, lose all motivation and CBA.
Have you asked for feedback on why you're being rejected? You may be over qualified. I'm happy to talk it through with you - you may need several CVs and also to change the way you search. Don't forget, you need to repost your CV on monster/jobsite etc every week, as most recruiters only look for things posted in the last 7 days (unless they're really stuck!).
Hope you can get the other stuff sorted out - there's lots of good advice here as you know!
Breakfast eaten, car insurance company yelled at (they told me that the no fault claim didn't matter, and not to worry... I told them that I wasn't prepared to sign a false declaration, so now they want to know more about it. If it puts the cost up I'll be very unhappy, as they've known about it for two years!). I suppose I should get myself showered and packed up and off to work... first meeting is at 10.30, so I've got just about enough time!0 -
Morning lovelies!

Welcome Shell x (((((hugs all round)))))
It's raining, thank goodness, though I know I shouldn't be lapping it up but it's been soooooooo hot this past week it's a welcome breather, left me washing out though so that's dripping wet  but it'll dry eventually. Back at work this week BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! really enjoyed my week off (memory come back - welcome home Jue ) but need to earn the pennies. SO, I'm in this week didn't do anything other than keep on top of the kitchen and the washing - it was fab! Oh I lied! I did the master bedroom yesterdy but will claim that star on the right day.
