L-L - good to see you. We realise you might not always feel up to spending time with us, but you know that both you and toots have special dispensation not to fly and we still expect to see you here!

For the household stuff for OH, all I can suggest is a filing cabinet with the stuff in it (with labelled hanging files...), and a big alphabetical notebook telling him where he will find things. It's much easier for day to date stuff than to have it filed on the PC (although you might want to keep some stuff there too).

I've seen some of the stuff written by friends in similar situations, and it really helps - things like: Washing... you must use xyz detergent because your daughter is allergic to anything else. DO NOT wash anything above 30 degrees unless you have checked every item in the wash, as shrinking teenagers clothes is taking a big risk! It's also a constant reminder of the person and their place in the household, and their personality.

I don't think you're being morbid at all. I think you're taking a very pragmatic approach, and it's sensible to deal with it while you still have the energy. And that way you know you aren't leaving your family with all sorts of problems to deal with at a time when they're going to find it difficult enough to cope.

I hope you will be around for a lot longer, and that things will be better again so that you can enjoy the time you have with your family. You and toots are both very brave, and a constant inspiration to the rest of us... and a reminder that we should count our blessings.

ETA - thanks for the message about Michelle. Hopefully she's feeling better.

LL glad you back but sorry you haven't been well.

I would agree a file cabinet is the best thing. When my sister died my dad had to sort through all her stuff to find anything and it was distressing as she hadn't recorded anything so my dad had no idea of any accounts etc.

Are bills etc in your DH name as it maybe easier for him than if you name is on them. I hope that I don't sound harsh but remember my father finding it so difficult when things came in the post with her name on it and worse still when he had to telephone and they would say no we need to speak to Mrs x.xxxx.

((hugs)) for you. if there is anything that I can do please ask. We are here for you even when the BD is there. if you want us to be.

Oven is desperate so will soak the shelves & grill overnight & do the oven tomorrow evening after the baby has gone to bed.

My older 2 have gone to stay with Nannie for the week & DH is away on business. So I am here with just the baby till a week today. I will get lots done...whingy baby permitting!

Slightly selfish, but please cross fingers I have lost at least 1lb tomorrow morning at my Slimming World weigh-in. Then I will have lost a stone! If I lose 2.5lbs (ha!ha!) then I also get my 10% target!.

    Off to bed soon.

    Night all

I take back all I said on the last thread about my house being clean....did someone say there was a new series of How Clean is your House? (might have been Thrifty) When when????? I love that program although I do feel sorry for most of the people as I think they often seem so very depressed and helpless
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
  • LL thanks for the add hunni! I've just done a search for the flylady group, is it MSE Flyladies with a (houseworkwont kill you but why take the chance) sign? just going to join it now! xxxxx (((((((((((((huge hugs))))))))))))))))
