Hi Piggers how'd it go with DS1 et al?

Well Jacob went down for a nap in his cot quite happily.
He is more than happy pootling about but they need to arrange getting the 2 free stair gates from Sure Start they ae eligible for.

The SW turned up to check the flat was suitable.. Gf and I had put away all the kitchen stuff and OH got the cot up and I'd done them a bunch of shopping so they had food.. I explained to Gf what apples are and where they come from and what you do with them lol.. she doesn't eat much in the way of fruit and veg.. but I'll deal with that lol.. SW asked who 'all these' people are.. after being told they are DS1's siblings and my siblings and my mother.. it was rather a full flat!

Gf is over the moon with the flat... and the sofas look fabulous in there.. they match wonderfully and they said to tell you thank you heaps!

They need a toaster, a couple of pillows.. I need to dig the airer from the shed for their laundry. Just a matter of looking over the next few days at the things they are needing and seeing what we can do.

OH is bringing a coffee table from his for their TV to stand on, they are borrowing my sisters other TV.. so I need to nag them about a licence.. I'll do that next :D.. Can you still get them from the post office and pay weekly stamps on them?

Gf is delighted to have her own WM which she doesn't have to pay to use!

Oh.. and thank you Jo.. I'll let you know when it arrives!

Well after a trip to the park and then my parents' house for tea I'm back. DH is out until Saturday - I only found out as my mum wanted to know what time he would be there for his tea so I texted him and he replied Saturday. Don't know when he was planning to let me know otherwise!

I'm not going to do much now I don't think - just have a bit of a relax.

Piggers - pleased everyone's home and settled.

    Surprise Challenge - Declutter 101
    Share

    Dear Friends,

It is Surprise Challenge time, we are revving up the de-cluttering!
Before you read further make sure you understand that we are doing
this in BabySteps. We are not tearing the house apart and then
    collapsing in exhaustion.

Below are the instructions on how to Declutter - these are step by
step instructions that will allow you to begin de-cluttering without
    becoming overwhelmed.

This is how to Declutter your home, an area of your home. If you are
new to de-cluttering then start with a room that you most see the
need. This could be your living room, your dining room or your
kitchen. Work on the main living areas of your home first. The rooms
that you use the most often that are keeping you in CHAOS. (Can't Have
    Anyone Over Syndrome)

You will need garbage bags, 3 boxes, a timer, magic markers, a feather
duster or dust rag, and some extra boxes

Label the boxes Give Away, Throw Away, and Put Away

    Where to start:

    1. Set the timer for 1 hour,30, 15, or 10 minutes , I don't care just
as long as you do the job as fast as you can and do not pull out more
than you can put a way in that length of time. This means one drawer,
one closet or even one shelf in the closet, one magazine rack at a
time, under the furniture. Not all of them.

    2. Start at the entrance to the room. Work your way around the room
clockwise. Do not skip an area. What ever happens to be next, just do
    it.

    3. With boxes at your feet and dust rag in your waist band. Start of
clean out and get rid of the thing that do not belong in this room.
Don't worry that you do not have a place for everything right now. By
the time we finish you will. I promise.

    4. When your garbage box, lined with a garbage bag gets full, close
it and put it in the trash can or the pickup truck or where ever you
keep your trash. Put in a new garbage bag and keep going until the
    timer goes off.

    5. When the give-away box gets full, take it to the car and so that
the next time you are out you can donate to the area thrift shop. Do
not save for a yard sale. You will be blessed by giving it away. The
value can be deducted on you income taxes. Remember you are trying to
get rid of clutter. Not relocate it somewhere else in your home. Grab
another box. And get to work.

    6. When the put away box gets full, take the box in your arms and run
around the house and put the items in the room where they belong. If
they have a place, put them there, if not put them in the room where
they logically belong. By the time you have finished you will have a
place for everything and everything will be in it's place.

    7. If the timer goes off, You are required to put away all the boxes,
but first you have to empty all of them. As fast as you can.

    8. Decide how often you are going to declutter a section of this room.
I want you to do a little every day. Let me warn you. This can
become compulsive. Once you get started you will want to clean like a
banshee. Don't burn yourself out. I mean it. Only do small amount at a
time. When you set the timer you can only do 2 sessions at a time. I
know this is a goal that seems unattainable. But we will do it in
    little pieces.

    9. Things to Ask yourself as you get rid of your clutter. Do you love
the item? Is it garbage? Have I used it in a year? Do I have another
one that is better? Does it have sentimental value that causes me to
love it. Or does it give you guilt and make you sad when you see the
item. Cleanse this room of everything that does not make you SMILE.

    10. Sing this song. "Please release me let me go" as sung from the
stuff point of view. It needs to be loved by someone and if you don't
love it. GET RID OF IT!

    11. Be proud of your accomplishment! Do not look at the room and see
all that you have left to do. Look at the room and see how much you
did do. The house did not get messy overnight and it will not get
clean overnight. It will happen with BabySteps.

so I need to nag them about a licence.. I'll do that next :D.. Can you still get them from the post office and pay weekly stamps on them?
SW sounds like my lovely CPN, someone you need like a hole in the head.

You can pay for a license for £11.95 a month and it cost the same as buying it for a year at once. Not sure about weekly, but the monthly cost is quite good. We have it go out by DD every month and never really notice as it's such a low amount.

Natty, how did you chat with lodgercats mum go?

FFP, I'm not surprised you are feeling drained, you have had an emotional few days. I'm so happy you have started treatment and are getting the help you need. Take care of yourself, don't expect to be superwoman, take things steady, babysteps remember? And also, over the next couple of weeks you might have a few side effects as the meds settle into your system (I think you mentioned feeling a bit odd earlier), but after that they should start helping you to feel better.

DH commented on the kitchen earlier! I am pleased, it looks quite good now, altho he had to put a huge pile of saucepans from the hob onto the nice clean worktop so he could cook some rice for dinner. But it's no big deal, I'm quite close to not having any washing up at all! If I wash up every day over the weekend, I might actually start the week off with no dishes lying around the place! Yay! It's so nice seeing the benefits of sticking to one room until it's nice, I feel I was right in deciding to stick to one list until it's all done, even tho I've still not finished it yet and it's Thursday night!

Next week I will move on to the LR!

Won't be around much tomorrow, am going to my Dad's Auntie's funeral. I've only met her once and that was at my Grandma's funeral but Dad needs support and so does Grandad and my Auntie. It's in Bournemouth so it's going to be a long day. Dad and I are going together in one car so we can leave quickly if I start panicking or anything. Might meet some rellies I've never met before so that will be nice. I've met my Dad's Uncle before, but the only thing I remember about him was that he told me I should be a nurse! I think it's cos Mum had told me to sort out all the teas and coffees and hand round the cake after Grandma's funeral, and he thought I was efficient! Poor Grandad, he's quite shaken by his SIL (Grandma's SIL really) dying, it's like all those in his generation are going. And he's going to be shocked tomorrow Mum says as his BIL (Grandma's brother) is quite ill and Grandad hasn't seen him for a while.

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow xx

I am trying to catch up but I am about 500 posts behind!!!!!!!

Did want to say that I am pleased to see you managed to go out today triker - thats brilliant but dont go overdoing it - I have learnt the lesson the hard way!

pigpen You must be over the moon with excitement too that they are finally back beside you - its fantastic and it sounds like they will settle in very quickly - with you to guide them they will be just fine - sack the SW!!!!
re the tv licence - I dont think they do tv licence stamps anymore because the post office lost the issuing of tv licences - if Gf or DS are on income support they would be able to get the easy payment licence which i think can be done weekly but i am not 100% sure and it maybe available on some other benefits too. HTH

juliejim huge squishy hugs pet - your Dh is acting like a litttle boy if you dont mind me saying so - i would make sure that his mother knows that he hasnt been communicating with you she might sort him out. In the meantime enjoy your time without any bad atmosphere -it will give you time to relax. xx

ok back to my catching up
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

    Hello everyone!

Pigpen just been reading how much progress the little family are getting on, sounds brilliant! With the TV licence they will need one before they have stamps, you can get a payment card and pay weekly or Post Office stamps I think they have now which can be used for many things
Ishtar I get my hoarding from my Dad :o

We got back about 2pm, done 6 washer loads and packed 4 boxes for moving house, oh and had a FLING of 2 bin bags worth of junk :D so that's some of my clutter gone.

Eventually the boys got me so wound up as they are tired (sleeping less when on holiday) and playing up so just sent them to bed, going to have a drink and something to eat then do some more.

Painting is nearly finished in the new house, carpets are booked to be fitted on Monday :) so I will be going over to wait for them before joining DP on the way to next holiday. Thursday-Sunday when he's back he's hopefully going to move some stuff over to the new house like the cooker, washer etc. I've got loads to do this weekend so going to make a list so I know where I am at. One thing I must do is see who is the cheapest supplier for G&E at the new house! Grandparents can have the boys 3rd/4th September so looks like that is when we are moving properly.....we'll have this house until end September so we don't have to mad rush, just that is when beds, sofas etc will go over.

Hope you are all ok, hopefully catch up with you all again over the weekend.
One day I might be more organised...........
