Allo ladies and gents. Well, what a day. I get a call from the OH on his way home from work saying he's burnt his thumb on the exhaust of his bike... so he's not feeling well at all. He needed cheering up so I drop the last few bits off the list and go to the butcher to get him some nice pork and apple sausages. He's burnt it quite badly actually, poor thing.
Toots, as an ex-housekeeper (I've done many a job in my 24 years!) I can say with certainty your cleaner won't object to anything added onto your lists. Sometimes it's easier to just get it out of the way when you can, otherwise it builds up and it's harder in the long run. I'm sure she won't mind. Sometimes it's nice to know you can focus your energy on making the householder happy by cleaning out their oven/kitchen cupboards/attic etc.
RosePink, all the best for the funeral.
elf06... hope you're feeling a bit happier!
So anyway, not done as much today as I thought I would, but I don't want to push myself too much
Left to do...
Magnificent Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining area
Sweep and mop the floor
Tuesdays Tidemark! ~ Living room, Hall, Stairs and Porch!
Vacuum all the floors, shake the muck out of any mats
Wiggly Wednesday ~ Master Bedroom and landing
Strip bedding, wash and replace.. BEFORE BEDTIME!!
Vacuum the floors
Thursday Thrills ~ Bathroom, loo and Study
Empty and wash out bins!
Level Three
Vacuum/mop floors
Friday funtime! ~ Little bit of everything that needs doing!
Level One
Declutter and vacuum the floor inthe chillies/spare room
Change any neglected bedding that needs it!
Level Two
Bake a cake.. or some buns.. or just something you like!
Level Three
Wipe out one kitchen cupboard
So I don't think I've done too bad. I'm not around tomorrow, and next week is going to be hectic but babysteps means this place is much cleaner and easier to mantain day by day.

stars updated to 855
well done to all the newbies - some of you have earned stars which is great - to those of you who havent - dont fret about it - it will happen - every little bit you do this week will make next week easier as you wont be spending timne on that hotspot or whatever you managed -
Remember - and this applies to everyone -everyone's house is a different size and in a different state to yours - its not a level playing field so dont get downhearted - some have partners and children who can help and some of us dont - so long as you know what has been done and you can see the difference and you feel better about your surroundings thats all that matters.
keep up the good work ladies (and gents if you are around) you are all doing well and the total stars is looking ok - we might beat last weeks total.
toots xx:heart: R.I.P.

I think I'm in a vague sort of state of shock. My son is sitting on the sofa reading a book. He has never really read books in the 29 years of his life.
He went and saw the new Harry Potter movie a couple of weeks ago. He asked about the books. I said I had them. He wanted to read the last one. I left it out in the living room for a few days - bait not taken. I then moved it to his desk in his bedroom.
He has now, this evening, started reading it and hasn't yet put it down. Miracles will never cease to amaze me! If he can read that, I can get him to read something else, with a little bit of judicious filtering...
Oh happy days!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

just as oh disappeared to bed i discovered the sink had mysteriously filled with pots again! Strange eh? So have done extra washing up....and put it all away...and wiped down surfaces....and left washing up sponge and cutlery drainer soaking in a bleach/washing up liquid mix - a la Kim and Aggie!
I feel really good about my efforts today:A:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

Does anyone remember that website which had a suggested list of who to notify when moving? Could do with something to see if I have forgotten anything.
hi there. Just trying to catch up with the thread ATM.
lil=me there is a site called moveme.com which I think covers everything. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do links. Hope it is of some help.

Evening all just popping in before I go to bed.
Just about all packed, need to make up the huge picnic and afternoon tea bags in the morning and pack the coolbag. Most of the stuff is in the car.
Serena - I hope you have a great time
Toots - we're off to France (like Serena) for 9 days, overnight stop there and back and 7 nights in a house with a pool hopefully right in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
Rose well done on the washing up and good luck for tomorrow sweetie, you will be fine
Happy birthday to anybody I miss whilst away, good luck to anybody getting exam results next week too.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy week, lots of love Dusty xThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Very little flying done today...
I did quite a bit of filing (all my old bank statements are now sealed in envelopes from 1997 onwards, 2 years to each envelope), and mowed the lawn. I also posted my denplan claim (as the benefit will go at the end of the month when my employment terminates), went to follow up on the meeting from last Friday, and dealt with a few odds and ends at work (including pointing out them that I'm still doing all the financial approvals, and until they TELL me to delegate them, I have to keep doing it... and also that I'm still in possession of the only unrestricted company credit card ). Went over to see a friend, went for a walk, stayed for supper, and her husband, who's an accountant, checked my redundancy calculation.
Came home and there was yet another VAST spider upstairs :eek::eek::eek: (squashed it with a Delia Smith cookbook that's lying around in the study - does anyone want vols 2 & 3 of How to Cook... only slightly grubby with a bit of dead spider on vol 2). I'm now trying to decide whether to deal with upstairs tonight, or whether to go to bed now and get up early so I can do the whole lot in the morning. I have to be packed and ready to leave by 11, as I'm going back to Norfolk for the weekend...
I think an early morning is probably best, as long as I can get to sleep and not worry about spiders. I'm always a bit nervous of cleaning in the dark if they're about. Not sure why
Toots - glad the decorator has done a good job. The carpets should make it all nice and cosy!
Pigpen - sounds as if DS et al have had a lovely homecoming. I'm sure they'll appreciate having you around teaching them how to keep house, cook, budget etc... Are you giving them a cat as a housewarming pressie
Natty - I'm with the others on this. Your friend should take responsibility for her pet and not leave you out of pocket. Pigpen's suggestion that you offer to arrange rehoming once she's coughed up is a good idea. That way she won't think you're a soft touch - if she finds out later you can always say that you couldn't find anyone to take him, so have taken him on yourself.
Serena & Dusty - hope you both have lovely holidays.
Hugs all round to everyone, especially those I've missed...0
