Jo I cant add anything to what the others have said - just keep at them for all your benefits and keep plugging away at the jobs - I know you wont stick - have you thought about college/uni? Maybe this is the time to do the career change we talked about before? greenbee has brilliant advice re the CV's.

Hi toots, yes Greenbee has had a look and been fab with lots of advice (thanks again GB :A) Its just there is nothing even remotely similar to what i do going, so have been applying for admin jobs/team managers/etc, but they all think im over-experienced/qualified.

When im finished [STRIKE]trimming[/STRIKE] slashing my CV, im gonna send it back to Greenbee again for approval :D xx

I am thinking about retraining..... in wales if you are made redundant, the Welsh Assembly have set up a thing called ReAct and can pay up to £2,500 towards cost of fees - but there are certain conditions you need to meet and to be honest, I havent looked into it yet - Ive been concentrating on getting some money coming in first! But i got some information blurb from the job centre, so will find out a bit more when i get a minute.

The problem is though, I dont really know what i want to do...

Flying....er, I filled the sink with hot soapy water and dirty dishes, decluttered LO off to the bath then ooooohh!! I DECLUTTERED HIS FLOOR!! then put him to bed and read the next chapter of his harry potter book!

Oh, which reminds me, does any one have the second book i could borrow please? I dont really want to go and buy it now when funds are tight, its Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?? TIA if anyone can help...xx

xx_Jo_xx Yes, I have found my copy of the Chamber of Secrets. It's a bit dog eared and scuffed on the covers and clearly well read but you're welcome to have it if you PM me your address - I'll pop it in the post tomorrow

I've got ALL the Harry Potter books, so I'm happy to lend it to your LO.

I was also going to suggest, if you wanted, that we could meet up sometime and go through some of the job hung stuff... after all, it's not as if I'm [STRIKE]motivated[/STRIKE] busy at work ;)

I've got soappie's CV now... this IS going to be fun :D

BTW - I've send something on FB to all the flyladies I'm friends with - it's a karma/pay it forward group which I thought fitted in with what we do. If you've sent a friend request and I haven't accepted it it's either because a. I got it today... or b. you didn't include your mse name so I have no idea who you are. I hope that those flyladies who get it will approve and pass it on - so many of you already do what it says, it would be great to join up with a bigger group of people who are trying to do the same thing!

Hi daft question all but can you cook a tray sponge cake in a glass dish????? I know that might be silly question but I have a recipe I want to try and it specifies a size for the baking tray but I only have a glass one that size and dont want to be spending money on ANOTHER tray......?

  • Hi everyone!

I have managed to keep up with the thread so far (lol) but I have realised that I am trying to do too much and it is wearing me out.

    Soooooooooo

this week, rather than try everything all at once and then have to redo it at the weekend cos of messy hubby, I'm going to re-jog everything. It also doesnt help that I work over 9 hours a day........

The weekday evenings I will concentrate on my keep fit, well, hawl my fat bum off the sofa!

    So Monday I:

    went shopping after work
    did 40 mins ironing
    caught up here
will walk the dogs very fast later.

Hubby has stuff everywhere which wont get sorted until Sunday so there really is no point in trying to keep the place clean and tidy cos there will be big words said!!!

    Back later,

    1 step x
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
    I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome! :p
