Confused here - got a letter from Lloyds to say cheque bounced and being represented but i paid in money on the same day and it looks as tho it went through? Online banking shows it going out and not being returned plus ive not had anything to state the contrary from the supplier to whom the cheque was written???

Also - letter from the IR today about those arrears for the pAYE & NI - i owe them £600ish as i managed to pay quite a bit off - however i need to get this paid asap - any ideas??

Hi dotty love---having in the past owed a great deal of money to the IR ,I found that if you are up front with them they are pretty helpful. What I would do is sit down and think just how much you can pay them on a monthly basis to clear the bill and offer them that.Bet they will accept it.

Thanks Pobby - on a positive note - a friend of hubbys has offered to sort out our books (in the past) so we are going to take him up on it - hes a retired accountant so he will probably fair better than me at any rate!!

Im in such a muddle and feel trapped - wish i could just sort the mess out - i dont really care if i owe thousands just as long as i know - you know??

Don`t suppose you will owe £1,000s for one minute but hey, that retired accountant is sure going to take the strain off you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep i know............and im really glad about him helping out - hubby's gonna give him a call tomorrrow........

The thing is i feel out of control - ive always been used to knowing whats what and i dont feel like that - being s/e has its ups and downs and the main downs are you dont get a nice wad paid in your bank each month - unless of course you do the work to earn it in the first place..........

Im puttin off ringing tax credits too as i know theyre gonna go down and also i may have to repay any overpayments - this will affect my DMP thats due to start on the 1st August !! If it goes down a little i may be able to cover it - dunno what to do at the moment for the best!!

Know what you mean about self employed hun!Do you think that your credits will go down by much?
  • Hey dotty,

Sorry I didn't see you msg til just now.

Keep going with the bank charges - its so worth it! I claimed from RBS too - follow the procedures on consumeractiongroup.co.uk - prelim letter, letter before action then submit court claim - worked for me! Scary though!
