Grilled prawns with a sticky bbq sauce?

a bit of ketchup, some worcestershire sauce, a dash of paprika/chilli powder, tsp or so of honey, clove or two of garlic, marinade and grill.

    prawn broth?

make a good chicken stock (or make some stock up). In a pan, simmer some ginger, some garlic, chilli and then add some prawns. in a bowl, toss some rice noodles, throw on some beansprouts, crack an egg on top. Then ladle the hot broth on top (this will cook the egg). add fish sauce for extra flavor.

Stir fry in garlic butter with some spring onion.
    stir fry chilli type meal.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.
  • In the same vein as misskool's post, I love Thai 'Jungle' style soups.
Here's my take on it - serves 2 - cooking time about 5 minutes

3/4 pint of water brought to the boil with chopped Chilli, Galangal (or Ginger), Garlic, a teaspoon of Nam Pla (Fish Sauce) a sachet of Miso Soup and a handful of Button Mushrooms.
    To this add
As much Spinach as you like - half a big bag usually does me - or Watercress - or both.
A packet of really cheap instant noodles (ignore the flavour sachet)
As many uncooked Tiger Prawns as you like
Bring back to the boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes
Chuck in some chopped Spring Onions
    Serve immediately
If you are using cooked prawns, add them about 30 seconds before the spring onions.

This also works really well with smoked bacon.
You can be posh and use Pak Choi if you want.
Smoked Duck or Monkfish makes it Really Posh !
You can make it as hot and spicy as you like just add extra chillis and garlic - if you have it in Thailand then it's so hot you'll feel like your eyes are bleeding - but it's very addictive !

You can use any noodles you like, but I really do find it works best with the very cheapest instant noodles you can find (Te$co Value are just fine).
If you use the 'chicken' flavour noodles then keep the flavour sachets, and when you've got half a dozen or so, mix them with flour and black pepper to make a coating for Southern Fried Chicken !

Hi - Pasta dish. Cook some pasta - stir in prawns and heat, add creme fraiche but don't overheat. Also add asparagus and avocado. Yummy!

    Hi southern scouser,

There's an earlier thread with more ideas that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

Fresh coriander? The chop and freeze rest of the bunch for another time, and veg stock cubes!

  • I second that rachbc
Just a note of warning do not add the prawns until the last minute because they become chewy and inedible if you cook them for too long
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Perfect with a spicy pasta.

Roast some cherry tomatoes (bang in season so should be cheap as chips in fresh local shops) with a drizzle of blasamic vinegar.

    Meanwhile cook your pasta.

In a separate pan fry some chopped onion and add some chilli flakes. At the last minute add your prawns and the roasted tomatoes and toss everything together with your pasta.

    MMMMmmmmmm.
