  • Yes you can get cheaper options just go to https://www.actioncameras.co.uk and they start from £105 i bought the expensive one and i can thoroughly recommend it its so small you could even (if you were naughty) hide it somewhere and take secret footage!!!

I guess the bullet cam for the Archos AV500 would not work on this unit because the connections are different, right ?

Oh i'd love to see some footage recorded on the Flashtrax and your bullet cam at the best setting, just to see if it's worth payiny over hundred quid for one :T please...

To answer mdolan's request, there doesn't appear to be a bookmark feature. However, if you exit from a movie during playback and go back into it without powering off, the unit does remember where you left off.

Incidentally, I bought one yesterday from the Chester store and there was one left but the box was damaged and dented in one corner.

If anyone is having problems with the LED not lighting up when charging, a quick fix is to power down, remove and replace the battery. This appears to fix the problem temporarily and I am confident that the unit charges even when the LED is not lit. The latest firmware was supposed to fix this.

    Hope this helps,

P.S. This is my first EVER post. I've been lurking here for so long I thought I had say something. ;-)

Cheers Mucker - what a very useful first post. I also think it charges without the LED but it's certainly a comfort to see it.

I'd also love to see the quality before I order one....

I was looking at buying a samsung video camera which has a detachable lense...but once you add the price of storage cards its sooo expensive.

Is it just a case of connecting the camera to the composite input and then hitting record....

Am I being to much of a cynic to think that sounds too easy...

    Any comments welcomed

    Cheers

Yup, mine appears to have the "led off" charging fault - but I don't care, as it seems to actually work ok.

Actually, has anyone figured out how to check the charge level? I have had the warning indicator appear when the charge is low, and it appears to have 5 or 6 empty bars. This leads me to think that you should be able to check (via a menu option) the current charge level.

    Cheers,
    Mike

The only way to check the battery level is to enter the radio function from the Main menu. You would have thought that the battery level would be displayed at all times.

The charge light wasn't showing on mine, and definately wasn't charging. So beware. Make you run it right down and then charge it, to test it so that you can get it replaced before it's too late and they still have them in stock. You can also try running the unit without the battery pack in it to make sure the power is getting through to the unit. As I have mentioned previously, I had to get mine replaced.

i just noticed that the LED doesn't always come on when charging mine

the soloution..................turn the thing on, it charges 100% of the time then

also, anyone read computer shopper?, theres a review of it in there compared to other portable media players, it fares well at 3 stars out of 5, and in the review it's said to cost £249.99!, so it aint bad
