I don't agree with the screen being poor quality its as good as you are gonna get, its as good as a laptop screen or portable dvd screen, in my view, it depends on the quality of what you are playing obviously.
What I think you wll find with the ipod screen is that it has a hard glass like cover to the screen unlike the flashtrax, which has the typical softish matt lappy/ portable dvd screen. If you want ultimate portability then encode dvd's via a codec onto a 2gb memory stick and use them on a mobile phone such as the Sony w800 or K750. I have a 1gb in a k750 and its got 8 full dvd's on it and loads of mp3 1hr mixes, its a real mini entertainment miracle. but the downside is you gotta do all the encoding yourself.0 -
I have taken two complete and sealed box 40gb units back to Staples in Derby (outlet near Morrisions) this morning. I bought four originally, kept one for myself, collegue had one but relatives didn't want others in the end.
Cheers0 -
Well I went to the Staples in Derby and they had the 80GB on display. When I asked about the 40GB, the sales assistant told me that they had been told to take them all off the shelf. He didn't know why but said it was all Staples.
Not sure how true that is but I was kicking myself that I didn't go earlier now!0 -
Just saw 2 at my local staples. Anyone still want one?
PS. The boxes were damaged0 -
Hi all,
Just got mine today. Anyone had a problem with it not charging. There is no light on, so it looks like it is not charging. Also, when I copy .AVI file or mp3 files to the correct folders it doesn't show up on the Player, but it shows that it is there when connected to my PC.
Any clues, and does anyone have the latest firmware they could email me as the Flashtrax site seems to be down.
Thanks.0 -
Return it. I had one which didn't charge and it was faulty.
I flashed it but it made no difference.0 -

Hasn't made any difference. Guess I'll have to return it as the battery definately isn't charging.
