Just had the main unit replaced by another store. This one looks to be charging ok.0

Hi All, I am going to be picking on of these up tomorrow from Staples, but the girl i spoke to was not sure if the one she has was opened or not. Just in case, it is a return, what do I need to look for, as she could not remember what was on the cover and whether it has a sticker on it to say free memory card etc.
Any help will be great.
ThanksNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -

There should be a display in the middle of box front saying that there's a card reader included.
Check that the cables are all in a selotape-sealed plastic bag and that there's no scratch on the battery plates (where it touches the unit's power connectors). It's always a good way of finding out whether the unit's been used before.0 -
For any one who missed out on the 1st batch, Staples seem to be re-stocking the 40gb ones, as saw some today in Ipswich and Colchester....0

Thanks to op! Picked one up today at Staples in Charlton, London. 2 40Gb XT versions left on the shelf at 99.99 with CF MS/SD and Scart adapters included. Haven't tried it all out yet, but seems pretty good.0

Big thanks to the Op. I'm well pleased with mine at the moment, although some .avi files won't play, (invalid format) so I guess I'll have to keep playing around until I find what works.
Got mine for £89.99 in Staples, Epsom on Sunday, as that was the shelf price. ;-))0 -

Have converted 11 films so far - used DVD Shrink first then converted the shrunked(!) file to .AVI using the above software. Brilliant.0 -
Anyone know of some decent (preferably free) software to convert mpg files to avi for full-screen viewing on a TV? The freeview card in my PC only records to mpg, and I want to convert the files to play through the Flashtrax on my TV. The software to convert files to play on a portable player makes them quite small and therefore a bit pixelly when played out through a TV.0

The free software I mentioned at http://divx.ppccool.com/ has an option to change the output device, including tv etc...0 -
