If you go into a branch of any other bank and transfer your banking to them, just ask if you can have an introductory bonus. I did that with Halifax when I opened a Reward account and got £50, as well as my £5 monthly reward.

I switched from Nationwide to A&L last year to get £100. A&L failed to transfer my mortgage and gas/elec DDs.

Hopefully Nationwide will do better when I switch back.

Only if you've made a mistake to select 'Send me a list ...' option. Oh, and they do send a confirmation letter - together with the Salary Switching Form ;)

If you select send me a list, you won't receive the £50, check the T+Cs you have to transfer all DDs and SOs from the other account.

Does anyone know if you used the promotion last time it was running you can use it again

"Only one £50 payment will be made per customer regardless of the number of qualifying accounts held. For qualifying joint accounts only one £50 payment will be made per qualifying FlexAccount."

This is slightly unclear as wheter it applies to the promotion this time round or everytime.
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

If you do like it please hit the thanks button.

On a related point (the offer) has anyone received their £50 for switching in July yet? The conditions state a credit will be made within 8 weeks of completing your transfer. Given I had the first DD payment taken from Nationwide 8 weeks ago - which by definition would be after the transfer was complete - the appear a tad late.

Received mine end of August. Text on entry was "Transfer from 1568/Sundries"

If you do the transfer to your current nationwide account, do you reckon you have to transfer your salary as well as your dd s.
It doesnt mention it in the T and Cs but in the 'How To switch'
    guide it says :

Step 1 sign in and select 'Transfer your account to Nationwide'

Step 2 Fill out this 'salary/pension form' and return to your employer or pension provider to let them know where you'd like your money to be paid.

There are two separate offers, if you click the links on http://www.nationwide.co.uk/current_account/switch_to_nationwide.htm

The (terms and conditions apply) link refers to the £50 offer, while the Find out more link refers to the 3 month interest-free overdraft offer.

The fault is with the credit card company. They did not implement the request to switch the DD to the new account.
Have they confirmed they received the request and have they told you why they didn't comply with it?
They really have no excuse for not carrying out the instructions or contacting you to arrange a new DD.

This from the Bacs website details the actions the credit card company should have taken on receiving the request.
    http://www.bacs.co.uk/Bacs/Businesses/BacsAcademy/AccountSwitching/YourCustomers/Pages/YourCustomers.aspx

The credit card is the Post Office one. They ("Thomas") told me that they don't accept instructions to change direct debits from banks - they have to come from me personally. I am sure that this is absolute rubbish. According to my online statement have reimbursed one payment. I also spoke to one operator there ("Maria") who told me that she could see no late payment charges on the account, which again was clearly wrong (I have had masses of letters from them about these charges and can see them online), so I'm loathe to phone them again. I think I'll wait for the next statement and write them a stiff letter if the situation doesn't seem to have been resolved.

Yes, as the link I posted above shows, the instruction to change the DD is now an integrated part of the DD system.
Writing an official letter of complaint is the best idea the sooner the better in my experience.
